  1. The 17 August 1945 date is like 4 July 1776 is to the USA. It is the day they both declared independence from their colonizers. This is the date they celebrate but in both cases they still had to fight a war against the colonizers. 1949 for Indonesia is like 03 September 1783 when the British and Americans signed the Treaty of Paris.
