@Tadgh78 QI has a live audience and they use the same studio as Graham Norton in London - series I was recorded in may and June and is broadcast this autumn on the BBC.

He was Richard Rich in a Man for All Seasons in 1966, Timothy Evans in 10 Rillington Place 1971, Quentin Crisp in the Naked Civil Servant 1975, Caligula in I, Claudius 1976, Kane in Alien 1979 and the Elephant Man in 1980 and has done many more roles since then - brilliant speech and well done his wife for suggesting it.

As a teacher in a school in the late 1980s - the dinner ladies always offered me was cheese salad - grated cheddar cheese and anaemic lettuce, cucumber and tomato. Eventually I trained them to offer a range of vegetarian food.

@Tadgh78 It is live and sometimes the audience get points for getting the right answer. Few if any British televeision programmes have laughter tracks - though a lot of American ones seem to - the sitcom programmes especially. When they are dubbed into German they are awful to watch.

After being cancelled twice from the Proms in 1997 and 2001 - it is nice to know this fabulous piece of music is being played at the Proms this year.

My first Shakespeare play in 1971 when I was nine years old was The Merchant of Venice with Judi Dench as Portia and Michael Williams and being very confused that Judi Dench and Michael kissed at the curtain call. I think they had recently married or were about to marry.

It will be interesting to see how it performs at Malmö. The UK seem to have gone for more established singer-stars in recent years - but without success - I think it probably depends on doing tours of countries and actually marketing the song to especially Eastern Europe.

This looks excellent - and an excellent cast - Christopher Ecclestone and Victoria Wood - I believe there is Stephen Fry as well.

@sc400575 You can download the series from the BBC website - it is 100 5 minute programmes - this is like a trailer or a summary.

I think you are referencing the 1997 film which followed the 1973 Hallmark Hall of Fame TV movie and the two BBC series of the Borrowers' books in the early 1990s. Not sure the term "original" can be applied to the 1997 film either in terms of films or in comparison of the television programmes where the BBC has precedence.
