  1. I was reminded of the comment by E. B. White who wrote: "Humour can be dissected, as a frog can, but the thing dies in the process and the innards are discouraging to any but the purely scientific mind." I find humour in foreign languages really hard harder than Shakespeare, Goethe, Pirandello, Molière in their original languages. I saw Dom Juan by Molière in Finnish at the National Theatre in Helsinki and at some points a ten year old boy and myself were the only people laughing at what I think is a funny play which was weird but it is a cultural thing in Finland where open expression of emotions is frowned upon.
