I remember in my first classes in Quantum theory (aged fifteen or sixteen) We were introduced to de Boglie's idea And I asked if that meant that Position and momentum Were traded off with each other It seemed so obvious to me I think de Broglie idea in his thesis Is often forgotten as the things Built on the idea are seen as The keys to the kingdom.

  2. When I first learnt about the first stage of Quantum Theory and de Boglie's work and Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle in 1977 our teacher without doing the mathematics in depth used the Fourier transform explanation and it is the one that stuck in my head especially understanding the HUP
