  1. I suspect the HJKL key thing is to link it with Vim users who use these keys a lot I use emacs but in EVIL mode so those keys are a natural fit for me. I suspect they wanted different keys for slide up and slide down to scrolling

  2. My first laptop was a black and white screen i486 which was my workhorse until its power card blew and the chip was no longer available.

  3. I was planning on putting an arch linux version on a raspberry pi4 and I like i3wm So I thought I would look up some i3 versions and kept coming across sway versions instead. I am going to try this version on my rpi4 to see what happens I use the rpi4 for browsing and running emacs and editing my reading tiddlywiki a non-linear notetaking app which runs in nodejs.

I like /liked Thunar mostly because of the bulk renaming functions until I found yazi which has a great bulk renamer which opens in your default text editor in my case NeoVim and then I can change the file names as if they are a file then you get at the end to decide whether the renaming goes ahead. For Mr Clumsy-Fingers (i.e. me) that is a God-send. So I use yazi most of the time and occasionally use Thunar.

  6. I have a tendency to not throw out old laptops and bits and I suspect I have a several PC-cards somewhere. I think now I have retired and need to sort my cupboard of cable hell out and ditch a lot of the stuff which I will never use again.
