+BlueAxeRacer Yup you're wrong. Like she said the FN2 had increased mid-range torque and "1 hp more" (despite being fitted with balance shafts that cost about 15 hp, so it would otherwise be up on power compared to the EP3), lower vtec engagement point, much lower final drive ratio (5.0 vs 4.7), and also later FN2s had the JDM-spec Torsen differential. So the FN2 is actually not necessarily as slow compared to a Euro-spec EP3 as you might think (JDM spec EP3 is another matter of course).

+celaCH1 "If there are people who rather like to buy a car that's 7 years older, without climate control," Yup, I'd rather have an EG civic with an engine swap instead of a EP3... no offense to EP3 drivers, still a great car, especially in the JDM-spec form. :)

+BlueAxeRacer "Suspension is critical, so if you want the better driver's car, go for the better suspension, i.e. the older car." So if you want the better car get the EG or DC2. ;) At least it has wishbone front suspension unlike the EP3. ;) You can put a K20 or K24 in there anyway.

BlueAxeRacer I have a FN2 and a swapped EG so it's the best of both worlds. The FN2 is a very good road car, very comfortable and spacious with the seats folded down; it stil has the excellent induction noise and snick-snick gearbox of most Honda cars, albeit of course it's not fast by any means A very practical & comfortable road car with mod-cons like climate control and cruise control that you'd expect in a modern car. :) The EG doesn't have A/C or anything like that, why would you need A/C in a car for doing club racing events? :)

+Christos Segkounas "I've driven all three "generations" of steering and the route they have taken is extremely disappointing." If you want to drive an old car, just get an old car. :) Electric power steering is essential as it improves fuel economy. I don't think the Civic's quick 13:1 steering rack, tiny 350mm steering wheel and relatively heavy 1400kg would mix well with no power steering at all -- surely that would be hard to drive, unless the steering ratio was slowed significantly -> the NSX with no power steering and less weight had a 17:1 ratio to make it managable. With 13:1 the steering would be too heavy to drive.

This is not going to go well for the FN2.... The FK2R should really be compared to the FD2R... The FK2 should be faster, but would it be more **fun** than the FD2R -- the previous ultimate civic type r?

Rebecca is staggeringly foxy -- incredible. :)
