Haa yes l remember Ma Bell well...ln the 1940's and 1950's at our house our number was 409 and my Grand Mother's number was 653j...Just pick up the phone and tell the operator what number you wonted and just hope it was a party line....On a party line people would listen in on you talking on the phone....You could always tell when was the case cause it made it hard to hear who you were talking to on the other end and of course the click so you would haft to tell to get off the line @#@@^f&*.....Many days have gone by since then....But l can remember it well....Thank Mr. History Guy....!!
