  1. For me, the closest ship I can visit is HMCS Haida. A pretty good one to visit, even if I haven’t actually been to her.

  3.  @stoutyyyy  Because there was this thing called Niagara Falls that prevented any ship from sailing into the upper lakes, and there was no naval infrastructure around the upper lakes that would support building a first-rate directly onto those lakes.

Some of the most iconic warships in history also happen to be some of the least deserving of their reputation, because they never justified their existence militarily and/or because they had idle careers. Do you feel that the reputations of such ships should be torn down and instead given to vessels that actually accomplished noteworthy feats or pulled off daring military actions?
