The current Philippine President then decided to side with China and Russia as the US wondered why the old ally had turned cold towards them (Dah!). Two Democrat Congressmen had blocked US assault rifles from being sold to the Philippines; foreigners visiting the country are in awe that Filipinos have running water, have modern cities, no mass starvation, thanks to the news media who always painted a super bleak picture of the Philippines. So the US now want a Visiting Forces Agreement with the Philippines realizing if the Philippines went full Russia and China, the SCS will become a Russo-China lake. Assault rifles and other military assets have been allowed by the US for sale as it reverses its pro-China policies and expects the Philippines to forgive and forget very quickly. Well the anti-American Duterte is still in office and he will be endorsing the next President soon. Hopefully he won’t be as anti-American as he is.
