What you all don’t understand is: Malaysia was formed by the Brits with the cooperation of the Malay leaders in order for British Royal family to get large revenues from Sabah’s and Sarawak’s natural resources, particularly oil. It was a time when the US had pushed for decolonization by Western powers and so the British Royal family schemed of a way to continue squeezing continuous revenue from its Bornean territories. Malaya, which was far removed from Borneo agreed to cooperate as long as the Bornean territories became their own provinces. That is why every time some conflict arises regarding Sarawak and Sabah, the British Military under the orders of their monarchy would show they are ready to respond.
