The question is, who should mock whom? Fortunately, mocking is not the way of Filipinos. There are a lot to be said about these two parallel civilizations both in their construction and management abilities and their moral values. China’s hubris about their “ancient civilization,” is just hot wind and had never produced good results for the country as one can see in their violent history. On the other hand, the development of the Philippines by way of Roman Catholicism is proving beyond a shadow of a doubt, that a more tranquil (despite some imperfections) country can result.
