@houseaccount3293 , hard to say who said what to whom after more than a century. You’re re-enactment is one of the few out there. My own personal opinion: I’m happy with what transpired. The US Army took care of business in Mindanao. Spilled their own blood and resources to get Mindanao under the control Central Government (despite decades of residual rebellion that ensued), established their American Education system together with Catholic Missionaries, defended the Philippines from Japan during WW2, and then left an independent country. If the Philippines were under the US by now, they would be severely Protestantized/paganized, depopulated and running big economic/government deficits, homes, businesses and beaches owned by American Communists including Lady Gaga, while Filipino indigenous won’t be able to afford homes and businesses in their own country. All you need to do is look at the Hawaiian economy today in relation to its own natives.

History 101: after Spain lost the Spanish-American War, their agreement in the Treaty of Paris, Spain ceded the Philippines and Puerto Rico to the United States.

@thomasctteo6868 ou Malaysians can be easily fooled. That’s probably from being kicked around in the head by the Brits. At least the Catholic Spaniards and the post-Civil War America (with much influenced from principled Catholic Americans) were benevolent administrators. Those Filipinos who rebelled were mostly led Freemasons including their much-revered national hero, Jose Rizal. That’s not to say that the educated and Christianized Filipinos weren’t ready for Independence because they were. It was just the influence of Freemasonry was too apparent. They are the same people now who make fictitious comments on social media.

@KievanRuskSFR , if the Philippines won, why was Rizal executed? The Spaniards seem to be totally in control until the Americans came.

@KievanRuskSFR , and it just so happened that they had to cede the Philippines and Puerto Rico to the US after losing the Spanish-American War? Nice!

@tmzjsansu9136 , even if you’re right, you have to consider Spain was fighting a major war with the US and resources from Spain to the Philippines was being diverted into their Atlantic War. It wasn’t like the Philippines learned how to fight a major war against a Western power. You can stop your false machoism now.

@Hotelsierraecho , China was and China still is the sick man of Asia. The Philippines was never the sick man of Asia, and I’m appalled by Filipino leaders who keep saying, “the Philippines is no longer the sick man of Asia” as if it ever was. It was the Chinese who tried to pass the pathetic title to the Philippines.

@KievanRuskSFR , so protest in Washington DC.

@houseaccount3293 , you have no idea how American pagans aka Democrats would have salivated to destroy Philippine-Catholic culture and could have done so. The Irish-Americans who were once the most staunch Catholics in America had been decimated a long time ago except for a very few. That would have been the fate of Filipinos. Philippine culture of honesty, respect for elders and teachers would have been just a myth by now. Filipinos would not fair any better than the Irish-Catholics. A larger population would not have been an issue just as California and New York who have yet to vote for their political state leaders. Yes, they’re leaders are appointed by coms under the guise of elections. That’s why these states together with a few more are suffering economically and socially.
