  1. What happened is SpaceX is developing a spaceship that will be traveling to Mars in much shorter time. So NASA has decided it will develop its own to keep itself relevant. If it weren’t for SpaceX, we’d still be launching satellites in the tens of billions of dollars each launch and initiatives to the moon and Mars will still be a distant dream.
