There is one solution that’s not been discussed in the disposal of nuclear waste. Send them all in space to crash on the sun or toward interstellar space where they can never be seen again. The former looks better and cleaner than the latter where it’s totally deleted from existence. With the much more reliable SpaceX launches coupled with a much smaller fractions of launch cost, this disposal method will be looking more and more feasible.

John Coloe, as I said, with reliable SpaceX rockets and at the low cost they’re charging per launch, it would be doable. It’s only the American commies who will not go for this because it is a practical solution and it would be better than stuffing it under mountains which is a limited capacity. Ultimately, it is you commies who protect your billionaire friends in bed with the oil and gas companies who protect the old status quo and prevents the world from moving forward.

@ARepublicIfYouCanKeepIt now do a calculation for Starship at 100 MT and 200 million per launch. Then for Starship 2 at 800 MT but will not be a multiple of 8 in cost due to economies of scale. Btw, if for instance every micro reactor or small reactor were to sell based on addition of disposal cost and see if the sale would still be economical, it would be interesting to see. Can you do this too? And btw, I wasn’t insinuating that we’re doing a world clean up of past stored waste. My calcs were based on future waste for future sale. Cleaning the country or the world up should be funded separately.

@ARepublicIfYouCanKeepIt , and we’re going to launch only the radioactive core designed to be removable. The rest of the shell and ancillary systems will be junked.

@ARepublicIfYouCanKeepIt just like any commie, you are being too nebulous with acronyms and the like while your calcs are not even done like a professional. Always use dimensions in calculations so your numbers and equations become clear. The numbers I gave you are clear and can verified verified by simple math calculations. Elon’s company is making space transport so much easier and safer. You throw numbers around like $40 billion, but your SLS rocket is worth over $20 billion per launch. Don’t be ridiculous!
