  1. To me, one exciting thing about automation is that is may actually make socialism work! If machines are able to do all of our manual labor, then perhaps, given sufficient free education (provided by tax money), everyone will be able to work at interesting and self-fulfilling jobs rather than be required to work to make ends meet.

  2. I could go on and on about this topic, but I'll try to keep it brief. I believe in democratic socialsm, which is NOT communism because it does not involve autocracy. I think everyone has certain basic needs, such as food, clothing, shelter, education, and health care, which should be guaranteed to everyone by the government. This would require everyone to pay much higher taxes, particularly the rich. I also think there should be limits on how much money people can make, because let's face it - how much better off is someone with $20 million versus someone with $10 million? I know I'll get a lot of criticism for my views, but that's part of the beauty of living in a democracy, so feel free to attack me all you want, but try to keep it civil.
