  1. This is my favorite of your videos I've watched so far! I agree with everything you say. More energy, not less, is certainly the way we need to move. The Kolmogorov scale is a logarithmic measure of how advanced a civilization is in terms of its energy use. Right now we're at 0.72 on this scale, and if we want to become a Class I civilization, we'll need to bring this up to 1.00, which means we'll need to increase our energy output by a factor of around 600. Clearly fossil fuels aren't the way to do so, since they're limited and they're also contributing to climate change. Clean energy would be fantastic, except I'm not sure if it could provide all our energy needs. Fusion is our best alternative IMO! Why not launch a Manhattan project to develop fusion power to meet the world's energy needs? Meanwhile, renewables and nuclear energy are probably our best alternatives.
