Capitalism grew out of mercantilism, which was happening under fuedalism Capitalism is defined as a socio-economic system based especially on private ownership of the means of production and the exploitation of the labor force. I suggest you read Debt: the first 5000 years by David Graeber where he completely disproves the idea that tribes were trading. Trading was extremely rare for the majority of humanities existence. For the majority of the time everything had been collectively owned by tribes with gift economies. It was extremely unlikely that you would have ever seen a trade happen back then. The idea that tribes traded skins for shells was literally made up by capitalists who didnt base their assertions on anything other than their observations of their current times.

@MckensyLong You fo realize many people work more than 40 hours a week right? You also understand many people get unpaid breaks, making their actual work day even longer. And they also have a commute. Many working 8 hour days are doing closer to 9.5-10 hours with that. Then you have to factor in things like eating and doing chores. Then the fact we live in a car centric society drives us even further apart. We have to spend time driving to get food. But yes, let's pretend that the capitalist system isn't driving people apart. Because why would they do that, they totally want us to have a bunch of free time to organize and realize theres a better way...

They also don't have socialist nations waging some form of warfare against them. Whereas every socialist nation has been attacked by capitalist nations in one way or another. And if capitalism is so great, why have none of the Baltic nations economically recovered after the illegal and undemocratic dissolution of the USSR? And why is it that when we use data from the capitalist world bank comparing the Physical Quality of Life in socialist and capitalist nations at the same stage of development the socialist nations gave a higher quality of life to more people than the capitalist nations? How do you verify it? If you aren't capable of verifying it, why believe it? Why believe it when they have a terrible track record. There's even a Wikipedia page about how information about North Korea is unreliable and filled with sensationalist falsehoods. Take assassination's. Some South Korean tabloid will write a fake article about someone being assassinated in North Korea, and western media outlets will run with it without verifying it, then months later that very same assassinated person is pictured alive and well, but do the western media outlets write a correction? No But you likely believe that someone was assassinated by a piece of artillery even though that person was pictured alive later on. South Korea pays defectors up to $860k and defectors can get paid up to $12,500 for speaking gigs. So everything they say should be taken with a grain of salt, and the most famous one Yeonmi Park, has never once been able to keep her story straight. I bet you believed her story about everyone getting out and pushing a train. Funny thing about those satellite photos that show North Korea has no light, well we used the same technique to take photos of the USA, and it showed that USA didn't have light where we knew it did. Did you bother to look into the techniques they used to take that photo? And yes, North Korea is poor. That's the consequence of USA doing genocide against you and then having the most oppressive sanctions placed on you.

Data wasnt really collected en masse until the mid 20th century, and every graph that shows the decline of poverty falling starts at 1890 even though capitalism got its start 4-500 years ago. So is the graph that starts at 1890 means that for the majority of capitalism's history poverty was really bad, or is it that before 1890 there was a steady incline of world poverty? Poverty is when you arent able to get your basic needs met. Before european colonialism many parts of the world were living off the land. They had their basic needs met. They objectively werent in poverty. It was only when the Europeans started to violently colonize the world when many of these places started to see poverty because the Europeans outsourced their truly barbaric ideas of private property. The Europeans literally stole the wealth of the world for themselves. And funnily enough, the majority of people being pulled out of poverty live in China.
