@notmyname9625 Why should people not be allowed to make money off their hobbies? Do you think he doesnt have bills to pay? He made a peice of interactive art. He does not want to make his art into a video game. You're asking artists to just give their art away, which is really fucking gross. They put their labor and love and also spend money on supplies, and you just want what they make for free.

Omg, if we built dense housing around all the dying malls and then made the malls into community centers, that would be balls to the walls awesome!

@rogink There are no right angles in twonscaper. A grid is simply impossible to do (as far as I know) in townscaper

@wsams They actually just started the traffic enforcement back up last week. Our streetcars should be given more priority on the streets and run every 10 minuets instead of every 20. We need more MAX lines that don't go downtown. And how awesome would it be if the yellow/orange line was actually split and one went downtown and the other went on the east of the river and they reconnect at the bridges. God that would be so nice. PDX has so much potential.

@aquaticko I see nothing perplexing about it. Not everyone is going downtown. A lot of people aren't going downtown these days I never go downtown. I live in north Portland and I don't drive a car. There's a lot of job opportunity along ne Columbia/Lombard but with our current public transit system it can take an hour and a half to get to some of these areas. A train line alone Columbia/Lombard would be huge and would reduce so much car traffic in the area. I also think a train line going down Powell would also be great at reducing traffic in south Portland. A lot of people are moving east to west and train lines are super visible which promotes public transit use. I also believe a tunnel downtown for the MAX lines would be a massive waste of taxpayer money. Instead we could spend significantly less to make driving in down even worse than it already is, which helps to reduce traffic. Tunnels would just remove the trains and make it easier for cars to travel through downtown which would increase traffic.

@lyssasletters3232 I have thought about the idea of turning them into housing, but malls simply aren't built for that. We likely would convert the anchor stores into housing but the rest of the mall would be great to hold a school, daycare, cafeteria, doctors offices, etc... I would also hate having all that parking outside my home, which is why I would love to see dense buildings built around them.

As a used to be Bostonian, Boston is a college town. I worked for a moving company and our busiest day was always college move in day.
