@1bryanestes "America was the only country that owned slaves according to all of the liberals..other countries just provided love and compassion to those held against thier will" Ive never once heard a liberal say that. Are you sure you weren't told that by a conservative claiming all liberals say that. USA did however make slavery solely about race and did everything it could to show that Black people are inferior. It also still allows slavery thought the 13th amendment, with the exception to slavery being allowed explicitly made to target Black people and put them back on the plantation, but this time with the state paying for their "well-being"

As a kid lifeguards would tell me to not dig big holes in the sand. I hated them for that. I forgot all about it growing up and now I am so thankful for them

@zoomer9686 "People are overly used to the trope of heartless fatcats sending miners to their deaths" Could also be the history of coal barons and company towns and the "miner wars". The trope came from somewhere, and it happens to be a true trope. Profits over people in our society.

@GenMcGrievous Then show examples of liberals claiming slavery only happened in USA and that all other countries just gave compassion and love. I hate to break it to you, but it's pretty well established that the African slave trade also saw African slaves shipped all over the world. Cant wait for you to point out examples

@sendthis9480 "You spilled a bunch of feelings…with ZERO to substantiate ANY of it…and then you pull a PeeWee Herman on me?!?" The irony of you saying someone else is spilling a bunch of feelings while you act in a very emotional way.

I think its important to keep in mind that while the Chicago Fire did have something that started it, whatever it was is not what caused the Chicago Fire. It was poor planning by cheap people who wanted to build a dense city out of wood. This was doomed to happen from the start.

@bennygerow No, there DNA isn't identical. Its very similar, but there are always differences in DNA in identical twins

They joined the navy. They had no choice of what they were doing after that

Imagine, as the instructor, being so fucking stupid that you don't do a head count before you leave.

@YOy50 How about when coal barons hired the Pinkertons to beat up miners that ended in what's known as the "coal wars" All because the miners didn't want to live in company towns and actually be paid real money. Our society places profits over people all the time, and its been like that from the start. Capitalism is a race to the bottom.

@sendthis9480 "835 businesses in 2023" That were reported and found to actually be using child labor. The true number is far higher.

@angelmeier4382 Actually, brjng forced to work for a private property owner to get your basic needs met or become unhoused and starving is quite literally slavery. For work to not be slavery, we must have our basic needs met by the private prowrty owners who own the entire world, giving you no place to go to escape them.
1
@smythsonianisback4190 Having to work us literally unvoluntary. Basically, the entire planet is now privately owned by a tiny number of people. There is nowhere in the world you can go to escape the private property regimes. If you do not work, you will become unhoused and starve. Remember, the entire world is owned by private propety regimes, so you can't go find a plot of land to settle on that has arable land and unpolluted water. You will be breaking the law and either shot or imprisoned. Thus, you are forced to work for these private property regimes or try to become the owner of a private property regime yourself. Sounds like slavery to me.

@beardedlonewolf7695 The Atlantic slave teade may not have been the largest, but it's the only slave trade where only one skin color was explicitly chosen, with Europeans and Americans doing fake science to show how Black people ste inferior. Trying to claim that slavery in different parts of the world is the same as the Atlantic Slave trade is a part of white supremacist culture. There has been zero evidence found that other slave trades' explicity targetted a specific color skin and then did fake science to "prove" Black people are inferior.
1
@Die-Angst It was about the color of their skin, and in our white supremacist culture, we have decided that the color of our skin is what defines race. Pulling up the "human race" argument is a part of the white supremacist culture we face. The Europeans and Americans even did "science" to prove that Black people are inferior.

Its wild how wanting people to be able to consent to baptism was seen as wrong. Really says all you need to know about the church
