@zoomer9686 "People are overly used to the trope of heartless fatcats sending miners to their deaths" Could also be the history of coal barons and company towns and the "miner wars". The trope came from somewhere, and it happens to be a true trope. Profits over people in our society.

@YOy50 How about when coal barons hired the Pinkertons to beat up miners that ended in what's known as the "coal wars" All because the miners didn't want to live in company towns and actually be paid real money. Our society places profits over people all the time, and its been like that from the start. Capitalism is a race to the bottom.

@sendthis9480 "835 businesses in 2023" That were reported and found to actually be using child labor. The true number is far higher.
