Massive difference between sex workers of age who choose to do it, and CP Horrible argument and you just showed yourself to be someone we can never take seriously
25
Why is having a brothel uncivilized? Sex workers are workers and they need to make a living. If society isn't making sure everyone's basic needs are met, we have to accept people will do work some don't feel is civilized. As you said, even if its illegal people will still do it. So should we give safe comfortable places for sex workers to work? Or should we be barbaric and make it illegal and make it harder for them to make a living. Lets not call places that have made prostitution illegal civilized, because they still have sex workers who are worse off.

I would argue that urban areas offer more independence than rural areas. There is simply more to do and it's easier to get around without a car.

@regulate.artificer_g23.mdctlsk The loss of child independence comes from building car centric societies.

@andrewsurowiec80 If someone doesnt like their country, they are free to stay in it and try to change it. If you dont like change, you could always stop living. The choice is yours.

@sams8502 We dont want self driving cars. We want walkable and liveable spaces free of 4000 lbs killing machines. We want our cities to stop being designed for the car. We want trains

@buckarooben7635 Here's an idea. Join reality and realize there aren't enough "real" jobs for everyone, and many of them simply don't pay enough. Also, I thought we lived in a free world?

@newwaveinfantry8362 Yes, we should legalize or decriminalize "black market" work. Its going to happen, so lets make it safer. You can claim that you dont think sex work is degrading but your comment stating "That is why I think that laws should change in order to steer society in a direction where sex is seen as a method for procreation, not a game for recreation." clearly says you do. Instead of forcing your view of how you yourself want to live on others, maybe you should join in on wanting to change our economic system where if a single mother has a kid, that wont be bad for the kid. You really just seem like a puritan bigot. Sex is fun. We can have it without making babies. Free access to contraceptives and fantastic sex ed will do that. Access to abortions also do that. You want to only have sex for procreation, then you can live your life that way. Stop demanding that others live like you. That's not how freedom works.

@newwaveinfantry8362 Its because your mindset is stuck in the 1900's. So grow up

@frosty_puffz1986 voting in USA is 1 dollar = 1 vote

@carl5381 "I signed on to murder innocent people in far away places to make our oligarchs rich and I think that's a fair way to get an education"
1
@L3th4LQu4rK School choice on USA means charter schools which have no accountability or transparency. Half of them shut down with the owners walking away with millions. If enough people switch to a charter school the public school will lose more and more funding which will completely destroy the public educnation system leaving millions of young people not able to get an education at all.

@sams8502 Europe has a massive amount of innovation happening. All you do is make things up with no understanding of what you are talking about.
1
@sams8502 Elon Musk and Jeff Bezod have nothing to do with innovation

@Real...MADRID-o4q The size of the country is completely irrelevant. American cities were once designed for people, then they were demolished for the car. That wasn't because America has a lot of landmass. It was because of lobbying.
1
@jayeisenhardt1337 Very few people drive across the country and very few people walk across European countries. People who bring up the size of a country dont seem to realize MOST trips are local trips.

@RevolutionaryGuitar You have far more freedom in a city. Trying to claim crime is the problem is a denial of the issue.
1
@RaymondFinkle In Tokyo kids as young as 4 can leave the house alone, and do. Big cities arent the problem. Car centric infrastructure in cities is the issue
1
@theodoricthegoth4027 Its true, theres only small town Illinois and hardcore ghettos. No other parts of cities exist
