i wish this would help, but it will just slow it down, eventually corporations will own every single building, and buying a home will be no more.
2
i hope neither side gives in and the company just shuts down.
2
the vaccines all worked tho
2
we have a talent for letting the rich change the laws to make themselves richer
2
STOP LINKING HEALTH INSURANCE TO EMPLOYMENT! IT ONLY SERVES TO ABUSE WORKERS! EVERYONE DESERVES TO BE HEALTHY!
2
better yet, turn over the property to the current renters. they are now the owners.
2
@DrAJ_LatinAmerica if there was enough supply to meet demand, they would have. it shouldn't be legal to rent places that are falling apart in the first place. and it shouldn't be legal for corporations to own residential property at all.
2
don't give him so much credit. Reagan started it. trumps just continuing the push.
2
someone didn't watch the video
2
hmm, whatdya know, just like everyone that used to be middle class. the middle class is gone. they took it. and we cant take it back one company or even industry at a time.
2
im amazed he wasnt booed out of that room. but i guess is he was everyone there would have been fired for pouring coffee at the wrong angle
2
the craziest thing is we cant even blame a corporation, which are objectively inevitably evil and greedy. the government is supposed to be different. yet it has the same outcome.
2
"it would distort the free market" - giant corporations with an effective monopoly who also get billions in government handouts and don't even do the work we pay them to do, and actively campaign against letting the government give it to anyone else
2
fuck rent control. NO PERSON OR ORGANIZATION SHOULD BE ABLE TO OWN MULTIPLE HOUSES. House are for people, not profit.
2
no matter what he does, the haters will call it something.
2
@WigglyCoop007 which people exactly?
2
unfortunately, the harder they fight, the harder the more money megacorporations will put into self-driving trucks. requiring working to fight for their own rights and livable wages is unsustainable. the cause for the drop in wages was deregulation. the solution is regulation.
2
we need to ban price setting algorithms across the board, there is no industry that should be allowed to use it. it just gives corporations more power to abuse.
2
no such thing as a good corporation.
2
every single new coin is bought by insiders before launch.
2
everyone knows inflation only exists because it's beneficial for corporations.
1
literally socialism for rich people. and im sure republicans have nothing to say about that.
1
why are we wasting time fighting individual battles against each company? This is clearly a systemic problem with captialism, and we need to come together and fix the problem as a whole, not play whackamole with trying to form a union in every company.
1
@penguin32383 because of insurance. they are the reason prices are so high, even when you don't use insurance.
1
WHY DOES EVERY INDUSTRY HAVE TO FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS SEPARATELY?!?! Everyone should have health care, everyone should have a living wage.
1
it's a casino except the house is allowed to change the value of your chips on a whim
1
bias towards to the wealthy is the whole point of capitalism. it's made to benefit those with captial. it's going to continue destroying every good until it's regulated to hell and back. regulated so hard to eventually it disappears and we all have excess.
1
" a handful of companies".... so antimonopoly laws are far too lax. we need to prevent corporations from owning even 1/10th of the marketshare. honestly i dont see any way to prevent giant corporations from taking over and cheating the market other than preventing them from mergers and buyouts. consolidation only results in market manipulation.
1
if we could just somehow show republicans all the things their tax dollars are being used to subsidize that only benefit rich people, i think we'd all be on the same side. they are pissed about "socialism", yet only find issues with it when it helps poor people. no one is going out of their way to try to stop rich people from getting free handouts. (probably because that's not beneficial to fox news, which is where they get all their ideas)
1
this is what you get when you let a selfish spoiled brat who was born rich run the government
1
yeah, i wish we just had two presidents and they only enacted changes they could both agree on
1
WHY THE FUCK DO WE ALLOW MONEY TO INFLUENCE OUR ELECTIONS AT ALL THATS THE EXACT FUCKING OPPOSITE OF DEMOCRACY
1
and it should get lower and lower each year
1
please stop saying vote blue, it's not gonna convince any republicans to change their mind, you're just increasing us vs them tribalism
1
what ever happened to supply and demand? if you cant find workers, you need to increase the amount you're paying... that's how it works...
1
OF COURSE THIS ALL STARTED WITH A PRIVATE EQUITY FIRM! THEY ARE DESTROYING THE WORLD!
1
that's completely wrong. every single industry is facing inflation and very very few have raised wages, in fact most have lowered when you account for inflation. they raise prices whenever they can, it has no relation to the actual cost of the products.
1
"just give all your money to the people who caused the problem so they can get richer off your meager savings"
1
no it's not, we could also eat all the rich people, perform denial of service attacks on their businesses, tie them up in legal cases, block them from entering buildings, disable their cars, hack their bank accounts, etc. there's plenty of options. everyone's just too afraid to do anything.
1
so dont get one
1
capitalism is designed to reward greed and existing power.
1
i dont care about free, i want it to be easy. i think taxes should just be taken automatically from companies and we shouldn't have to worry about filing at all.
1
this isnt a problem with frito lay, it's a problem with capitlism. this is an inevitability of a system where corporations arent held accountable.
1
there is a shortage of labor. and a lower supply means the value of labor goes up. the labor is there, they just aren't willing to pay a fair price for it, they want to pay the lower price they're used to.
1
@phxsisko there is no green party. because of our voting system, any vote not for the main 2 parties is basically thrown out, or worse, taken away from the party you would have chosen otherwise. until we get RCV, you are wasting your vote if not voting for them.
1
because that's just propaganda invented by the rich to make you think you already have it better than most people and to not try to fight for anything better. when you look at actual data, the US is not the greatest in any category.
1
the free market is a lie
1
@wishunter9000 or is it perhaps government underreach, for making laws based on current situation and then never revisiting them over the next century. just because it's bad for us now doesn't mean it was the wrong decision for the government to make at the time. and even if it was, the problem is still that we let it sit for 80 years instead of changing it once we realized it's no longer working. I dunno when that was, but at least we can all agree that in it's current state, it's completely broken.
1
if trumpets can break from the republican party and help end this 2 party system, that's a win for america
1
we to stop having any parties because that's their greatest tool for blocking positive changes
