amen brother. ceos think there's absolutely no downside to focusing solely on profit and not caring about users / customers / creators. they just cant see all the ill will they've accumulated over the years, and eventually the bubble is going to burst. they are slowly running their platforms into the ground for short-term profits.

its not our culture, we hate it too
1
idk why you need to mentally do that, how is it not obvious
1
im not gonna watch ads no matter what. if they're not skippable, im just gonna leave. if youtube stopped fucking over creators and users in every way imaginable, then maaayyybe I'd consider paying. but after seeing hundreds of videos of creators explaining how youtube just screwed them over and barely even talked to them, I can't in good conscious give them any money or ad views.

EVERYONE CANCEL
1
i fucking knew it. as soon as streaming services started adding "ad supported" tiers, I knew we'd eventually just be back to cable where everything has ads.
1
amen x 100000000000. people only care about attacking people who disagree with them so they can feel right, they dont care about making actual change.
1
except that's still bullshit. the changes are because they want more money, not because they need it.
1
fresh paint of coat
1
getting annoyed at the mods instead of the admins is exactly what they want. why should anyone bother to do what the masses want when they're so easily controlled and manipulated?
1
sorry, i hate ads, and i think youtube is acting very evilly, but i still dont think there's anything illegal or invasive about them checking if you blocked their ads. its their site.
1
fuck DMCA. it's impossible to use as a solo creator since every major website will forward all your personal information including your address, to the criminal who stole your content. that's just not safe, and they know it. they dont want you to use DMCA, which is why they make it as painful and dangerous as possible.
1
@red---paulvanravenswaay2247 youtube's adshare went down so far that the only way for people to make money is sponsorships
1
dont forget the FBI tried to discredit MLKjr by making up lies about him in an effort to continue the oppression of black people in america
1
yeah im just gonna do a much shittier job and not bother removing shitty posts and do just enough to make it look like im still moderating
1
@eliaspanayi3465 once again people are blaming the victims and not the giant evil corporation who is intentionally hurting them. like jesus christ do you even watch these videos or just jump right into the comments to spew bullshit
1
cant you just smash the ad screen and camera?
1
sponsorblock is the only reason youtube is remotely tolerable. just like with TV, if I have to watch ads, I wont wont. Sorry but advertising is completely unbearable. And I also don't feel good about giving money to a giant megacorporation who treats its users like shit and gives them a tiny cut while constantly only caring about themselves.
1
why doesn't supply and demand affect prices when there's lower supply of labor or lower demand for buildings? because capitalism is just a lie.
1
dafuq?
1
as someone who runs a website that makes money from ads, fuck DRM in all forms and fuck google
1
people against minimum wage: just get a better job minimum wage workers: gets better job people against minimum wage: no one wants to work any more!
1
no the biggest issue is most of the reviews are fake, and most of the brands aren't real
1
No, it's called the american justice system, where corporations lie and manipulate our legal system by funding lobbyists
1
not necessarily, you could access it from other devices
1
DMCA was invented to protect companies from getting sued, and now they abuse it to attack content they don't like. No matter how you look at it, it's anti-consumer.
1
@Dojan5 I would like to transition to alternatives, but have no idea what they are
1
as a mod of a sub with over a million followers, this is a really hard decision. taking it down most likely wont change reddit's mind, and will hurt the people who depend on the subreddit.
1
this is scary AF. and yet even with issues like this, self driving cars are probably still already safer than human drivers, who kill OVER A MILLION PEOPLE EVERY YEAR
1
i dont think you can get a restraining order from the government
1
leave it to megacorporations to create a much worse product than open source devs can do for free
1
our justice and law system is completely compromised and broken from top to bottom. needs a total reboot.
1
since when are not allowed to stand up for people even if you don't represent them? anyone against this just wants the world to be every man for himself, so they have free reign to be an asshole
