  1.  @VudrokWolf  Same here...25 years in many different stacks/techs. The industry is packed with young devs and the less experienced they are, the more they are convinced of their religious conviction of "The Right Way". It's a folly of youth and ego. When you start building complex distributed systems to scale out, not having centralized types quickly becomes a problem. So does not properly organizing a project into smaller, simpler, single-use files and bits of logic.

  2. I dunno. I think you've touched on the fact that AI isn't anywhere on par with human creativity - it relies on human creativity to provide content, and is made up of human-generated data. Will humans stop being creative and creating content because AI is also doing it? I don't think so. I have faith in the human spirit of genuine curiosity and the pursuit of novel ideas. At most, I think we'll end up with a hybrid universe of content with humans as the source, and AI as the processor, enhancing and refining what we imagine into existence.

  3. All these mental gymnastics just reinforces for me, that TypeScript is crap. No real safety, no runtime type checking. It’s a validator. After decades with strict typing in other languages, I was so excited to go full-JS and enjoy the flexibility and simplicity. I don’t need the explicit type crutches. Microsoft has succeeded in infecting JS and has made it a tedious mess.
