A simple fix to the housing crisis - remove the tax deductions on any investment properties except 1 (this should be a vertical trickle-up effect too, so a parent company can only have a single tax-deductable property within ALL of their sub-companies). Start to actually tax companies that make large profits on housing, Remove all tax benefits if an investment property has no tenants for 2 years or more (cumulative between renters). (Sydney had 200k homes that were kept empty so that they could sell them at a later date for a much higher premium). As far as the environment goes, why is the EPBC (federal) act allowing a SA project to continue without ANY monitoring or other restrictions when it impacts threatened and endangered species? Why are they pushing through a number of new thermal coal mines and the gas projects (which are worse for the environment per GW generated)? As far as state politics goes, why did Palaschuk allow the Adani mine to go ahead when it would destroy the ONLY known wild habitat of a nearly extinct bird? Wage theft is theft, is should be treated as a crime, in my opinion you could enact the freezing of the business owner/manager's/board's assets under the proceeds of crime laws.
