Agree totally, my wife has a PHD in evolutionary entomology and did a postdoc in ecological entomology - She was doing 60-80 hrs a week work and got out of research and went to a entry level state government role and was paid $5k better for a 7hr a day job, 6 months later we are looking at $45k better with the potential to get another $10k-$20k the year after.

Labour - the side that gave the biggest polluters tax breaks to account for the carbon tax they were hit with, the state government that approved multiple Adani mines in QLD and altered laws to allow other mines to get past the restorative measures they failed and also blocked an inquiry into corruption of palaszuck & frends. The ETS is a really fkn bad idea, as it allows trading of emissions responsibility allowing the biggest polluters to control the market of ETS, A price on carbon (and other gases) is a great idea, shame the greens shot it down cause it 'wasn't high enough'. Liberals are far worse, but Labour is still pretty shit - remember it was labour proposing the great aussie firewall, removing online anonymity , they backed reduction in whistleblower laws and several other moves you would expect more from Abbott.

@SkigBiggler I think it should be an outright tax, you pollute, you pay. Offsets may be created, but not purchased and must be shown scientifically and independantly to have the actual emissions offsets claimed.

@lennytabtwoo9686 Hey they originally spelled it Labour, changed it after pressure from the american movement in the early 1900's.
