It depends on his own 'identity', far too many people conflate their sexuality/sex makeup and hold it as an intrinsic part of who they are, rather than only counting with sexual partners. Some other people do the same thing with the job, they 'are' the corporate executive who makes all the big decisions,. And for these people who anthropomorphise certain of their attributes to the level of identity, then they are seriously hurt when others do not take that and the associated beliefs as gospel. Think about the reaction of the big executive I mentioned, the one whose job is a major part of their identity, if you belittle what management do, or even point out the failures of his management, then the first step will be denial, then next will be the shutout, the same as the hard left.
Think about an extreme left person, if someone disagrees, typically the first step is a 'but it's obvious', then it is a shutout. only occasionally do we see any questioning by the offended party to ask why it isn't obvious.
