it's college propaganda. they are an industry. they don't want competition from trade schools etc and want to make sure all high school grads are funneled to their schools.

gen x boomer parents advised their kids to go to college and make $. i dont blame them if it worked for them hey assumed it can work for the millennails and later. problem is college degrees value is dependent on supply/demand. if everyone has college diplomas than he value will go down. education inflation. it's a real thing.

@Jarnvir nope in order for you to get a taste of America you would have to be at least 20 before 2000
6
@Austenfan177 good for you but from what we can observe here a lot of women married men that aren't their first chocies and they would qualify as "beta providers" os just saying. congrats
6
just say you're from africa. elon musk is african bruh
6
good point. always assume teh opposite. so if we have this job vacancy thing now... you can bet there are no job vacancies.
4
@b.dangerfield6499 yes. spin it towards your benefit.
4
people learn the majoirty of their life skills from school. if schools don't teach you anything than imagine a computer lacking key programming in the operating system... not joking here. only the minoirty will go out of their way to learn things outside of school.
4
if we ever go to the poin where we make robots ah are abundant and cheap and they have full AI and can repair and mainain themselves... well that's when I will say ok we're f'd.
3
@Jarnvir another way for money to funnel out of this country
3
actually it's like this in corporate too. it requires the accountants o make sure hte books are balanced, the marketing team is doing their job to make sure hte products are being advertised properly. the designers making sure the products match whatever teh R&D /engineers give to them. etc. i have respect for line workers in any field it's the upper managemen and the worse of them all the micromanager upper management that just strut around.

@garyshinn4626 no I'm saying that the us economy that people used to reminisce about the pre 1970s economy the us was a industrial superpower and we exported stuff.... How we went from that to a debt based service sector economy where we rely on other nations for our materials and products is just sad
2
when push comes to shove manual physical labor will always be top priority as he backbone of our entire way of life and standard of living is revolved around infrastructure.
2
basically if i recall what jewish people used to say is learn a skill that can make you money. that's what it boils down to.
2
@readerrabbit6690 I totally agree they teach you this backwards on school. Like you need money to do anything...I don't get why teachers cant get it though their fing skulls
2
also issue is time horizon. if you plan on retiring at 65... well you got 14 years.
2
@Jarnvir looks like we're stuck on a infinite loop
2
we need to bring back vocaional high schools. you do 3 years of generadl ed last 2 years you learn a trade. it can be anything. seamstress. cooking, wood work. whatever. equip you wih a trade first.
2
america needs more high speed rail lines. i mean real rail lines.
2
i wonder what training do you need to do this kind of work
1
america is primarily a service based economy...
1
and we wonder why we ship in illegal workers... just saying
1
most basic component of economy is materials and labor. money is basically just a unit of universal barter that conveys your labor.
1
basically if you play your cards right you do the tough work in your 20s/30s and you evenually move to supervisor/manager roles. that's how it's always been thats how it always will be.
1
@Jarnvir no American working on the wages they want which is pennies on the dollar
1
i read even in the worst of the great depression you had white collar guys digging ditches to make money....
1
we gotta do what we can just to make it now. forget thriving. if you got brains, luck, work ethic, and talent han you will thrive. for the normie joes out there. if you can even make it to retirement wihou being destitute you already did well enough
1
@silverfox6883 do you have money?
1
i learned that dentists make little to no profit from teeth cleaning.
1
@calebrankin3518 you said ALL the welder jobs. so you're saying a master welder is getting paid $13/hr... you can post links on youtube. what are you smoking bruh
1
@calebrankin3518 maybe try breaking up the link with a space here and there. That usually works
1
infrastructure will always be in demand as it will always need to be maintained. just look at china a huge chunk of their gdp is nothing but construction.
1
sad thing is when the beta providers get kicked out and money r*ped.
1
yeah construction should be prioritized and emphasized in education. trades skills.
1
let me ask you this much how many folks in the air force could make it to 20 years and cash out on that pension and make it to master sergeant? ?
1
sad thing is soy boys could do the work. but you gotta slowly deprogram them and ease them into it. but we don't have time.
1
immigration has always been a sh*T show. any country that doesn' protect its workforce and its indusries is insane.
1
basically corporations can only survive and function if they area always mindful of their operating expenses, income, bottom line, cash flow etc. runnin a successful company is not easy. never was never is. going woke is basically a gross misallocation of resources, manpower, equipment chasing fruitless political dogma that doesn't yield you anything
1
yeah OF pay is now worse than say federal minimum wage pay. like you could flip burgers in oklahom and get more money tahn OF full time. i recall in 2014-2015 the economy got so bad in greece taht prostitutes over there charged for services equivalent to a sandwich. so imagine getting a bj or full service for $5-10.00
