depends on what type of war.... if we're fighting a world war 2 type full war all branch of the military can be very dangerous. during ww2 many usaaf planes got shot down lost a lot of airmen. during ww2 many navy ships saw action in the atlantic and pacific, got torpedoes or kamikazed or shelled lost a lot of sailors. army... self explanatory. marines - they suffered pretty high casualties too. this time around with missiles and other high tech weapons that our adversaries have i wouldn't be surprised if we have similarly high casualties where one plane is taken out by 1 missile or one ship is taken out by one missile.

uh... you talking nuclear MAD or conventional war fare... there's no way we can defeat both countries single handedly in conventional warfare.... we barely defeated germany and japan in ww2 and they were tiny compared to the USA.... and oh yeah china can outproduce the US... isn't that what the US did to japan and germany back in WW2. by outproducing them.

@Sergiot0831 now im a novice and im deferring to your expertise. you stated the us excels at existing infrastructure, hardware, and cold hard cash are you saying china and russia lack any of the above or all the above? regarding aircraft carriers i don't deny that. since they're so f'ing expensive only the usa would be crazy to dump that much money on basically 12 mobile airports. i personally would've advocated for more nuclear submarines

@Sergiot0831 the us manufacturing sector had always baffled me. Supposedly we off shored all low end manufacturing to China since the 1980s. Ok we still manufacture high end tech and equipment.... Now since many things that we need would be considered low end and it's these low end factories that make the shells, bullets uniforms, food rations etc. How are we going to go into full war production if the lines aren't even here....

if a draft is declared it is too easy to get 4F for military reasons alone... just being too fat means you're DQ'd so instead of breaking your arms just hit the drive thru.
