the figure is if you don't have to do anything or have zero income coming in until you pass and you are projected to spend on xyz then... those figures would kind of make sense. but for people that live more of a spartan lifestyle you don't even need that much money probably half that amount. assuming your house is paid off already.
6
yeah if you are retired your yearly spending should be at 30k and below.

@hypr1014 cold war has always been confusing... like we're enemies but yet we have to accept the others existence at the same time... man what a confusing time

i wonder if both ships are under standing orders not to engage any opposing ships or is it captains discretion? also isn't there some kind of bottom line where ships are free to engage if within a certain range? i mean chinese ships aren't exactly allied friendly ships... aren't they supposed to be enemy combatant forces?

you'd be surprised many boomers haven't paid off their hosues. so their house related costs (mortgage, property tax, insurance, upkeep) they still probably going on trips and vacations they still eating out a lot probably they still spending shopping they still doing a lot of things pre retirement but with post retirement money.
2

basically more worker displacement, higher unemployment, and more poverty.
2
your only way to mitigate this is you need to lower your idea of what you think your wants and needs are.

well just to guess a few things either they didn't pay off their house so mortgage, property tax, insurance, maintenance their cars upkeep. if they still have a nice car they have to pay medical care costs out of pocket if their medicaid or insurance can't cover it they still going on vacation trips they still shopping they still eating out just to guess.

this is something that is not being discussed. why are people not considering all their options..
1
@graywind4326 well i wasn't talking about rich rolks or people that had high income careers as all this talk of frugality would not really apply to those folks that are at the 1% range. i was just talking about the working schmoe or the middle class folks that made 5 figure range salaries for most of their working careers.

anyone figure out how so many haitians are able to make it to mexico and then the usa. to give you guys a refresher course haiti is next to dominica republic which is next to cuba. it's nowhere near the usa and its not part of the mainland which is how so many from south america were able to make it to the usa vai train/foot but unless you guys are telling me haitians are able to fly to mexico or have access to a armada of vessels to ship themselves from haiti to mexico.... i just don't see how so many of them are all of a sudden pouring in.
1
@heathb4319 well i wonder what would happen if us navy ships and PLN ships crash into each other every week. like we don't have to go to war but let's crash into each other. :D just for curiosity saskes how do you think the older navy ships would do in a crash test against modern navy ships.

social security is dependent on a large worker base with smaller amount of retirees. with ever growing more retirees and a stagnant young worker base or shrinking young worker base... well if it's a ponzi scheme there's not enough money to funnel to the top
1
actually a way for you to break out would be to be able to survive without having to use their services or goods.

if the united states never made credit cards easy to obtain for the working shmoes a lot of this stuff now would not even happen. oh sure there were poor people then but retiring has always been a luxury for the well off folks. nto for the poor folks. you work tll you drop that's how it always was and that's how it will be at least until they can replace you with a robot.
