  1. patrick you are startin to become disassociated with just how not welll a large swathe of hte us population millennials/gen z are doing . you mentioned if you can't afford a $1 million dollar home get a $600k home or if you can't afford a $1600 /mo car payment get a $720/mo car payment.... you do realize that the median house price in america is $400k and even at this level a lot of americans can't afford a home forget about townhouses/condos to work up to a house because townhouse/condos are almost as expensive as a single family home. at the same time the most basic e cono cars are starting around $400/mo for car payments and there are people that still can't afford that. the run of the mill american makes around $50,000 a year. after taxes and such that's not alot of money to go around. basically you can either have a family, buy ahouse or retire for anyone below the middle class you can afford 1 of these. Middle class 2 of these . Upper middle class 3 of these
