  2. are you paying them overtime? because if overtime is on the table i don't see why anyone wouldn't want to do some extra over time. unless there's more to the story you're not sharing. also im sure you realize that the reason why immigrants don't complain as much is because they are just starting out trying to build their lives... once you get to 1st generation born or 2nd generation children of immigrants they definitely aren't as ... compliant.

  4. @ john d rockefeller didn't really start having influence over the education system until the early early 20th century. so if you want to use the tycoons influence than late late 19th century or early 20th century
