if we just go by teh first 2 seasons... it's as tone down as anime can go. they have to at least abide by some rules of physics lol

it's buntas car. he got it back in 1983 based on what iketani said it's early GT Apex model. not because bunta actually wanted that car it's probably one of the few cars he could afford at the time. bunta is poor. he makes tofu for a living. the shop is tiny. the flat they live in .... is very spartan. we don't know what happened ot the mom but she's either dead or she left bunta because ... well the living conditions werent' all that great. so basically we got a single father trying to raise a son by himself while trying to run a business.... it's a rather sad tale actually. takumi has to get up at 3 in the morning every day to deliver tofu for 5 years... that's just torture right there. if we discard mf ghost for example. takumi ended up even worse off than bunta. takumi never went to post secondary school and works for a moving company moving stuff... now if we go by mf ghost... which is the official sequel to initial d set 30 years in the future. itsuki never went to post secondary school and still works at the gas station, iketani still at the gas staion. if we go by mf ghost. we're talking being pump jockeys for 30 years. takumi became a champion rally racer in britain but got involved in a very bad accident nearly died and lost his ability to race due to that injury. again sad tale. iketani became bald and no wife/kids. kenji ended up the best out of all of them working at an office wearing a shirt/tie and has a wife and kids. initial d is a very sad story. also bunta and Yuichi passed away.
