companies will not give you feedback because they don't want to be legally held liable. if they don't tell you anything you can't sue them.

@unsalted_computer also the career time horizon is not that long due to wear and tear that is more than your white collar or hybrid collar jobs. a lot of trades people say by your 40s you will feel exhausted if not worn out if you started in your early 20s so basically 20 years and your body is pretty beat up. thats if you haven't ranked up or started your own business by then.

actually factories had to leave en masse by the 1980s /1990s because the us overhead is just become too high for low end and even middle tier manufacturing the only manfuacturing that could survive in the us with healthy margins is high end tech manufacturing and with the amount of red tape that is in teh usa i am not surrpised if even that is like nope im going to overseas. before people say oh we have many manufacturers here... well actually no because what we learn is that we import a lot of parts or components and assemble it here. the us law states clearly if the product is assembled in the usa it's counted as made in usa. this has been going on since the 1990s as we basically sell our labor and assemble stuff here. we do not even have the machine tool fabrication capacity here as leaked in the recent canada us auto plant thing where we were sending things to canada for fabrication and sending it back here.
