i think it's crazy that with their demographics situation as dire as people say it is that even the chinese government in their level of control can not legislate mandatory marriage or mandatory child births or outlaw divorces period... that means some things are so just sacred that even the government can't touch it.

actually whats interesting is this all of this is the legacy of the chinese imperial examination. which was started in mid-Tang dynasty. just as a reference of when the Tang dynasty (618–907) it's been 1404 years and we still can't shake it.
11
actually your ancestors left china for various reasons but usually its either political or economic most common reason why people left china in the mass migration from the 19th century up until the 1980s was because of 1.) famine 2.) lack of economic opportunites 3.) political instability 4.) lack of social mobility if china didn't have famines , they had political staibility , and more economic opportunities and more social mobility there would be far fewer reason for chinese to leave in the first place
11
yeah it's pretty wild your career is finished by the time you're 35.

restaurant industry is too competitive in china. one thing foreigners forget about is that food stalls are totally legal in china. meaning you can't compete on price. food stalls win 9/10 times. also street food stall food is typically better tasting too.
10

We should have used Mexico for manufacturing back in the 1970s but at the time the leadership didn't like how corrupted the Mexican government was, perceived laziness, and also they got too many holidays. Not my words but top us senior leadership at the time In conjunction with corporate America circa 1970s

@vueport99 the most dangerous foe is someone with nothing to lose. if the chinese people or youth have the attitude of ok go ahead kill me. you're doing me a favor. than the gov . would be well in a impasse. gov power also work in conjunction through intimidation or use of force that is global. bu if that don't work... well you got no more trump cards.
