economy equals goods and services production and consumption. to grow the economy faster requires more goods and services to be produced and consumed exported etc. the us is no longer the only big player in town in terms of innnovation and creating new stuff. china is on par with the usa in all fronts of what growing a economy is by certain economic metrics china has already surpassed the usa. so basically whatever easy gains the us could have had in the past is no longer the case today. so no just growing the ecoonomy is not a good idea because the other things are growing as well. the debt at this point can't be capped because too much debt has already been accrued.
