  1. baby boomers were very fortunate in the sense that when they started on the job in the 1968 (assuming they started after college) the WW1 generation were mostly out of the work force/passed on by then. the inter war generation were on their way out. (the ones too young for ww1 and too old for ww2) the ww2 generation were by tihs point already in senior management positions as they would be in their 40s+. the silent generation was a small cohort (the gen x of their day) compared to the ww2 generation. so this basically left them huge vacuum to move in by 1968 - 1986 and also people retired earlier during this time period or didn't live as long as many ww2 died from liver disease.
