  1. the kind of pain the usa people had to go through for world war 2 like rationing, full war time production no civilian goods, the amount of casualties the usa did take in the european/pacific theaters... if we're not willing to endure like that... forget about it.

  2. what's interesting is that when the usa is facing rivals with comparable weaponry we get scared. but this should be normal in warfare. you can not count on lopsided technological advantages anymore. if anything count on the enemy being able to hurt you and you won't be surprised. hence you need more dispersion forget these super carriers. you need more of the escort carriers they had back in ww2 which you only had like half the size /plane loadout but you spread it out and lesser of a target.
