  1. @CMBBmc-jd6ur you can still in theory function normally and take care of yourself well into your 70s/80s if you took care of yourself from the onset. it's when you hit 90s and beyond is where you might need help. but it's not uncommon for people to be falling apart by the time they're in their 60s. everyone is just built different. not fair but it is what it is.

  2. there's 2 thins that is always mind boggling to me. 1.) money out never stops but money in... this is always in question 2.) house payments are taking longer and longer now. remember long time ago in the bygone era (pre 50s) the norm was 15 -20 year mortgages... 40 year mortgages. the average age of first time home buyers in the usa is 35 now... with 40 year mortgages you're not done paying until you hit 75... even if you speed up the payments back to 30 years you're still not done paying by the time you're 65. 3.) just how much it cost to own a homes. say the average home price in the usa is $360,000.00 and your home should not exceed 3x your annual salary... this means you would need to make at least $120,000 a year just to be able to afford that house. so money out never stops and the time horizong to finish paying off your house is taking longer and longer.
