In the future or even right now for example a 3 bedroom house will need to fit 9 people assuming you got 3 people to a bunk rack per room. Theres no other choice. 9 adults all chipping in would offset the higher costs to a certain extent....bit so much for any privacy. (9 x $50,000/person means that one house has up to $450,000 worth of money to work with per month)

  21. the us is a consumer spending economy where roughly 60-65% comes from spending. so if people saved /invested and didn't spend the economy would actually shrink fast. and the big daddy us gov would not like that at all.

  28. im pretty sure this has been discussed to death but 1.) we need more construction trades people 2.) we need to c ut all red tape local, county state etc no more zoning restrictions 3.) the government needs to subsidize the builders 4.) no more nimbyism 5.) people can not always fallback on must maintain home prices 6.) people must look beyond single family homes. apartment, condos, high rises etc. 7.) get out institution buyers 8.) also homoe prices need to drop down to more realistic relation to median salaries.

They were never too happy to lose that strangle hold over the centuries and are now recouping their losses over the last 523 years.   37. from what i can read on research reports for every employee generates more value than their salary. for example for every dollar you're paying them they're generating back at least $1.30 and this is the entry level bottom of hte bottom. the top level folks for example for every $1.00 you pay them they're generating $5.00 for example. so you are right in the sense i don't get how any one can view employees as liabiities they're only liabilities if they cost more than what they bring in but any company would just die if that's the case. unless they're super concerned about their profit margins and that their margins have to be maintained at all costs but this tends to be for publicly traded companies and not privately held small corporations. musk and bezos are no different than the carnegies or rockefellers or jp morgans of yester century. they feel you get what you are worth. and this is in the most literal sense.

  40.  @alexphoenix9208  of course bezos and musk don't deserve to be paid a million times more than his line employees but unfortunately everything si all about ownership. it pays to be owners. their companies generate say 1 trillion dollars of value and if they even own 5% of that well they get a lot of money. hence why people siad dont buy nike shoes buy nike stock. don't buy tesla cars buy their stock. don't buy junk from amazon buy their stock.

  48. it's confusing becaues we can't use past busts to predict future busts. every decade there is always some x variable introduced to the equation. the powers to be are way too smart to repeat the same thing twice but the next time around will be a different kind of bust hence we're always being thrown off. like for example the government all of a sudden redefining what a recession is. or saying inverted yield curves don't predict recessions even though they do... you see how we're being gaslit constantly now.

  56. problem is the builders basically control how fast or slow houses are being built. city zoning laws are also impeding that... if ther was some magic deity that was able to with a snap of a finger make enough housing to fit everyone... i do mean everyone overnight it would cause home prices to collapse.

  59. how i see it is these companies can just bypass influencers. they just do their own digital marketing directly have their own spokespeople presenters just hire a good looking guy/gal to do the talking and demo the products /services themselves. you guys reemember infomercials.. like ron popeil or billy mays. they were massively successful and they only captured a tiny slice of the overall consumer market. thats just my take. you would think every company would have their own youtube channel, instagram, facebook ,tik tok, twitter etc.

  60. i don't think the amount of new businesses has been able to keep up 1:1 for the ones that it destroyed. old industries were moe laborious new industries aren't as laborious. so going by the math for every 100 jobs wiped out and 90 jobs creaetd means you will always be at a 10 deficit.
