an issue is people forget that other states also contribute to california economy hence why the huge gdp of california if it does successfullly break away it will be treated as a foreign nation and all trade deals with all 190 countries will need to be renegotiated. claifornia will need to come up with their own currencies own central bank everything it takes to start a nation they would need to do as well as supply their own defense etc. it's not simple. also as people have said here california infrastructure is dependent on other states... also there's no stopping the USN from blockading california...
