  1. you only deploy national guard if the local law enforcment can't get the job done. if they could than they wouldn't need to deploy nationa guard in the first place.

  2. i heard or read that lapd/lasd is seen as a stepping stone to better law enforcment opportunites because lapd/lasd have their own police academies you go there get your certificate work 5 years to build up your accolades then jump ship to another police department or move your way up to state or feds. it's getting rarer for a career LEO to actually finish their career with the LAPD/LASD anymore.

  3. no shocke there in LE you can do 20 years and qualify for a pension and it's pretty hard on the body so they do their 20 and get out. and go private security
