  1. america prior to world war 2 was akin to multi generational household setup. obviously most people alive today would not have went through that. but based out of ecnonomic necessity as if you wanted to have your own house and household .. you better be making bank for that time. people forget that the modern middle class we revere didn't really spring up until the 1920s. so fast forward the middle class is a byproduct of the levit town constructions after world war 2 with lots of jobs opening up because of the post war boom. that's it. because when the rest of hte world recovered from world war 2 by the 1970s we find america economy starting to get squeezed on top of geting off the gold standard and the nuclear family thing really the heyday was from 1950s to maybe the 1980s.
