A german experimental rocket propelled jet aircraft with a ridiculous short takeoff designed for quick reaction against enemy attacks? Where have I heard that before?

About number 1. These tanks stayed in the open, knowing the risk of RPG fire was present, because heavy sniper fire pinned down the infantery and the tanks where there to help and protect the infantery. They where brave men.

reminds me of the Coelian, the german prototype SPAA based on the panther

@manumanitas161 ah yes but you see, those are of no concern to the USA and Britain. As they are not planning of getting involved in any conflict there. China on the other hand, poses a tread to the islands in asia. Tanks are not really that usefull in pacific campaigns.

I like to call this: the big freedom dakka dakka

@KinorArgonis yes, but after the fighting has passed there, there will be suitable tank grounds to fight. Either in china, or India.
2
hey, the first tanks where also just kinda improvised armored vehicles!
2
They both have advantages, if you need a machine that can fire a big caliber faster than other machines, autoloader is your choice, if you need a loader that can adapt to the situation, a manual loader is preferable... So for artillery autoloader are a nice alternative, and in a battle tank the fights on closer ranges a manual loader does the trick.

I think that the tanks name should be designated by the hull, like the T34 became the T34/85, the hul was relatively unchanged.

mmmh, it seems we then need a modern nuclear powered super heavy battleship. armed with 800mm cannons, 60 nuclear missles, 50, 30, 20mm Anti Aircraft defence gatling guns, 16 of them each. yeeeaaaaah, that will do the job, but also mutliple other guns ranging from .50 to 360mm cannons. we wil make it unsinkable , able to tank 500 torpedoes and 2 nuclear bombs at least!

Imagine a full blown war game on 1 server, mmorpg, having fight on orders of other players, being in a certain group, which can even just make you in a repair group until your faction has won or lost the war

Answer: BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT

@KinorArgonis no, and we know of the tanks getting stuck on the beach and having trouble moving inwards also, those where shermans. Modern MBTs weight more, and are bigger in size. Furthermore, modern ATGMs will have easy pickings on any landingcraft that seems to carry a tank. I think vehicles like the striker, bradly and puma are more suited to island hopping campaings as they are quicker to be brought ashore, and have better mobility.
1
@KinorArgonis sorry, for sone reason thought the striker was the british IFV
1
@KinorArgonis of course the chinese think a armored fleet us important, as they share a border with india.

I wonder if you could mount a 155mm recoiled rifle on these of some sort, creating a very effective method of bringing the artillery support to the frontlines, any cover will be blown up

One with a gun, and one with a supply of spare parts. This is basically a little workshop you can have around at all times.
