Shear strengt is a material property, that yes could be regarded as the viscosity of a solid, but it's within the object. 2 objects rubbing together experience friction, which is dictates by hardness, surface roughness, lubrication, normal force etc. Not the shear strenght of the material.

  15. Destroy? Don't think so. Make uninhabitable? Easy. We could try and completely ease a plannet by yeeting a meteorite in it, sized multiple hundreds of kilometers across. But I don't think humans have enough materials to make a ship large enough to move such structures. Unless of course we could make devices that can alter gravity from a distance. A tractor beam so to say. Of course, then nothing is stopping us from slowly altering the course of a plannet untill it plunges itself into the star it is rotating around.

  23. immage if one day we could strip planets made of metals to make giant space ships, which we could use to farm the water of the water planet and then deposit it on planets we deem fit to house live, we could make the planet spin creating a magnetic field and then we would wait for everything to set, before we set foot on a new world a prosses lasting thousands of years, in which the generation that started it will never see the resulst. a prosess where even the farming of water from the water planet will last hundreds of years complete cultures will form on the mothership, maybe even wars will break out, countries might form on the ship, but that wouldn't matter, because a lot would be automated and eventually the ship will send the message the planet is ready, and a few thousand people will go down to colonize the planet, letting on it humans, livestock, and other animals like insects the planet will already be overgrown by plants launched from the ship decenia ago.
