Harry Moobs Why do we need over 800 foreign military bases? Why do we need to build 22 billion dollars worth of nuclear powered submarines along with the nuclear tipped missiles to launch from them. Gov't shouldn't be about the war business but the peace business. We are entering a crisis that will NOT go away in a few weeks. Thousands are losing their jobs and thousands of small businesses are being ordered closed.

@invictusdude3881 It will slow automation because automation requires profits to invests. Automation raise capital value and reduces living labor time. However the profits come out of the surplus value we create less labor time ends up lowering the price. Now you have a lower rate of return on investment. No capitalist wants a lower rate of return on investment. He must automate or prices will fall to the cost of production leaving him without a profit. Also profits shift to the capitalist industries or firms that can take advantage of automation vs those which can't do much automating.

Robert Slackware If I don't have toilet paper I have scrap T shirts as rags that can be washed. The thinking that everyone needs to be a survivalist is just more capitalistic individualistic thinking. Ever social crisis that happens under capitalism can be described as 'Your On Your Own". That's because profits come first and keeping the working people divided is the source of all profits. Your free education ends at 18 any more education you must pay for or be lucky enough to get otherwise your worth minimum wage. Capitalism and the capitalist government needs to go in a socialist revolution not the election of a fake Burnie "Our Revolution" election as President. A Fidel Castro type of revolution where the building human solidarity comes first is what we need. Not the elections of more corrupt two party politicians.

@Bruno Pereira The one problem for the libertarians is capitalism has never worked according to libertarian principles like a non aggression principle that denies class struggle of any kind is real. Then since capitalism already exists whatever the libertarians propose is only attainable by the reform of capitalism as it already exists. For the librarians the government sands above classes that don't exist and only becomes involved when violence occurs. Since private property is the highest expression of human freedom a small class of capitalist owners always maintains the right to break strikes using the police. The workers may strike but not defend their picket lines since private property demands the right to hire and discipline by starvation without question. According to the libertarian the rights of the property of billionaire capitalists exceeds any number of workers and unemployed should they want to defend their own property from repossession by banks or the company with foreclosure, reposition or eviction orders.

No this is propaganda for big business. They benefit most by a low minimum wage. Bosses replace labor with machines because that's the way capitalism works. That happens in every industry where it is possible not just car washes. They use to have attendants pump gas. So called "Progressives" should stay out. They are unneeded. They should go unionize their own jobs. Capitalism has its own internal contradictions that drive it into war and depression.
1
@dantesebastianespinolaorti4378 What's Venezuela have to do with the minimum wage in New York?
1
@dantesebastianespinolaorti4378 Inflation of the Bolivar compared to the dollar is much worse in Venezuela.
1
@Rat-Builder Right both parties are doing so well with the coronavirus. Afterall Rush Limbaugh Medal of Freedom winner said it was just another Get Trump scam. by using the CCP as late as March 13 to combat nothing but a common cold virus. The Chinese were supposedly laughing at us. Now Congress is passing "Trump Socialism". Since they have had the dickens scared out of them.
1
Robert Slackware No Congress spent its time in its fake impeachment activity and people like you and Tump Medal of Freedom Winner Rush Limbaugh was calling it just a cold virus. I'm in Red State Texas I haven't seen toilet paper for 3 weeks now are the orders issued from Republican Gov Gregg Abbott fake? So you're still calling this a cold virus hoax. I'm wondering if people like those with the screen name Slackware aren't playing with their pud.
1
Robert Slackware State, Local, and Federal gov't is completely worthless. They come on TV and tell you to make you own mask and stay home. If you don't the say the cops are giving you a $1,000 dollar ticket.
1
Robert Slackware Childern belong in school not making money for some big bag of cash.
1
Robert Slackware If I can steal the bosses big bag of cash before I'm 25 and not get caught yes I will be better off in capitalist society.
1
Robert Slackware Obviously the Democrats are the capitalist social reformers. Vote for Bernie Sanders and he'll make Billionaires pay their fair share. Like what? Let's set a maximum income tax and a 100% tax on capitals gains made by corporations because they aren't people who need an incentive.
1
Robert Slackware We were talking about child labor. No I think you want to make a billion dollar business shoveling horse manure online. If you feel your child is old enough to cut the neighbors lawn on the weekend that's not the same as letting him take a job for some sweatshop boss in a factory. I've seen the White House and it's too big to cut a lawn that size in a reasonable time by a child. I graduated at age 17 from HS and worked in a factory with saws, nail guns and a fork lift. My uncle was the forman and I wasn't allowed to work with any of the saws, nail guns or the fork lift. That was before OSHA.
1
Robert Slackware You do see the avatar I chose. I put it there so people see that I'm not a Democrat or Republican. If the kid who mowed Trumps lawn didn't mow the lawn would he be starved and beaten to death? We've had a federal law prohibiting child labor since 1938 how many cases of children being starved and beaten to death have occurred since because they were blocked from working by the 1938 law or other child labor laws?
1
@michaelvol8922 The answer is right there in TheMilitant.com newspaper. To rebuild the unions and organize a new labor party.
1
@Anne O'NymousYou mean the 30% legacy admissions in the "Poison" Ivy schools like Harvard. There all part of the capitalist elite who were born to rule. That Ivy League degree proves it. Just as Trump who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.
1
@anthonyhenry9383 Obviously no one wants the cops or FBI at the door except the strikebreaker Reagan and the rest of the ruling class (including the Democrats) who call on them for defense of private property. No one wants the US Marines or National Guard on the street corners like in Berkley when Reagan sent in the National Guard to fix the mess he created by when he sent the Cops to People's Park in Berkeley with shotguns killing one and blinding a second person against the wishes of the UC Berkeley president.
1
@Bruno Pereira I am not Stalinist nor have I engaged in Mass murder or voted for mass murderers like a long series of US Presidents from both parties in the 20th Century. We don't preach we are merely the living tacticians of mass class struggle. Communism is a movement that starts with facts and proceeds to draw conclusions from those facts be they triumphs or defeats. Those like Stalin and Mao created new religions out of Marx and Lenin making themselves into living gods with cults of personality. Having political cults of personalities was first pioneered by the English merchants and Feudal landowners who restored the power of the monarchy and the peerage ending the 1649 English Republic or Commonwealth.
1
@Bruno Pereira When the American Imperialist want a war they start with a big propaganda campaign because they've always had trouble getting the American People as a whole to sign on to foreign wars starting with the Imperialist Spanish American war in 1898. They don't create poverty except when they are actually attacking another country or they announces sanctions where they act to twist the arms of 3rd party countries to go along with their economic attacks. They also have no problem with any kind of military, economic or political attack no matter how heinous or unjust that kind of arrack it is if its Good for American Big Business then It's automatically good for both parties.
1
@Bruno Pereira If the US were to lead a successful global agreement to destroy all nuclear weapons then the 2.1 trillion earmarked for new atomic weapons could be put to work creating things that are economically useful not just here but in the whole world. The US Imperialist won't do that because they need the nuclear threat to maintain world military domination. They need that to guarantee US capitalisms rights in foreign countries. That's why they need 800 foreign Military Bases and a World Military Command structure. One in which oligarchies are more than too happy to join for the access to military weapons to suppress their own people that such agreements provide.
1
@Bruno Pereira It's traject that you think that dead people are funny. I wonder how funny you would think being a peasant or worker drafted into the CZAR's army would be? Do you think a lot of young people in the US thought going to Vietnam as a grunt was a barrel of laughs?
1
@Bruno Pereira How hilarious JImmy "Human Rights" Carter must of been when he ordered his UN ambassador to vote for Pol Pot keeping his UN seat.
1
@Bruno Pereira Well if your with us on ending interventionist actions we are happy to have your support on that issue.
1
@Bruno Pereira Trump and Mike Pompeo don't laugh at Cuba now though do they? The murder of a single black man by the police sets off protests by hundreds of all races in the US and beyond and you say there is no class struggle? You guys actually have more in common with the so called Democratic Socialist who also want a reform of capitalism. You say elections are important but your party thinks a fat guy doing a striptease is important? I guess you got a little bit infected with Cultural Marxism. The US government is attacking small business as not essential in its method of fighting the coronavirus. If you're Jeff Bezos does Bezos want to negotiate with Bezos' own government or a real union of Bezos' workers? A wage increase is much easier to deal with because a union will want things like safety and work rules that are much more costly to the billionaire class. If you can't speed us up!!! You can't slow us down either!!!
1
@Bruno Pereira For supporting the workers in their class struggle we plead guilty and you can make the most of that as Anti American Anti Business or Anti whatever you like.
1
@Bruno Pereira "..Eastern Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia laugh at you..." Maybe they laugh at me but no one in the White House has laughed at Cuba since 1959. In 1928 the Stalinists said, "We had three generals without an army." Well today we have many more "Generals" then the CPUSA and the Stalinist don't have an army outside of North Korea.
1
i don't know where you get the idea I accused you of racism unless you have a guilty consensens. Most likely you think I'm a supporter of cultural marxism and these Professional SJW's with their 501c organizations who are winning the revolution one food coop member at a time. LMAO
1
@tonipernar8745 It comes about by mass movements demanding change.
1
@tonipernar8745 They may start that way but the will both broaden out and become more focused. That is the lesson of that last big radicalization of the 1960's. Black working people brought others like young people of all colors into their fight changing a whole generation in the process. The battles against colonialism result in a major defeats for US Imperialism in both Cuba and Vietnam. Fidel Castro gave a big microphone called Radio Free Dixie heard across the East Coast to black rights fighter Robert F. Williams. The FBI who had planned to frame and jail Williams in their campaign to prevent the rise of a Black Messiah failed.
1
@BrainRottVFX Why is it that so many of you think that the capitalist politicians of both parties sifted by elections and campaign donations in the most powerful capitalist empire in human history would not "..kown(s) how business works?" They all know how business works. They just don't know how to save capitalism from its own self destruction and its own demise.
1
@machinist7230 And you of course as a machinist want a wage cut to support your bosses profit margin. A rise in the minimum wage helps boost all wages. It will not boost skilled wages above a profit level since if that was to happen all skilled contract work would stop.
1
@stanwolenski9541 "How does Business work?" Pay the lowest wages and charge the highest prices. Keep incumbents in the market and prevent anyone else from entering with licenses. Go for more of those cost plus government contracts. Get some special tax breaks. I know I must have missed something haven't I?
1
@machinist7230 It helps boost all wages which are set from the bottom up. The argument that the bosses can just automate or raise prices or close down is wrong because automation has its costs for new investment and raising prices if possible would already been done. Some on the edge of failure will close anyway. Those already earning $15 /hr will be encouraged to ask for a raise not become resentful of others. Why is it you don't take your own advice and remove your nose out of other people's wages. The class struggle ultimately decides the question of wages anyway not voting Democrat. Clubbing together for better conditions and wages is a step forward against the bosses and towards a fighting union movement that takes all workers into the struggle against almost 50 years of no wage growth compared to productivity.
1
@stanwolenski9541 I understand that some people enter small business with hopes and dreams of doing something good but unfortunately the good guy always loses.
1
@pierdolio Trump supporters were calling the whole thing a "Get Trump Hoax" right up to March. It just accidently fits into his anti immigration and protectionist trade war policies. Trump and Biden will run for the title of dumbest guy ever born.
1
@pierdolio Trump proves that even the mentally challenged can graduate from an Ivy League business school, become a billionaire and President of the United States. Horatio Algers lives in Donald Trump. If Biden wins he will show how even alzheimer's need not stand in the way of Presidential greatness.
1
@pierdolio Sure he has done some things that go against what the establishment politicians desired and made things better in some ways and if Biden is elected he will probably also do a few things. Just as Bush passed Medicare D. They will also respond to a certain amount disciplined mass pressure and we will get a negative response when real riots and looting break out. Overall though they can only go so far because each party accepts that private property and capitalism is the only way things can be done.
1
@pierdolio Considering we have more prisoners both numerically and percentage wise than any other country yes we need change. My party TheMilitant.com the Socialist Workers Party will get my vote. Our Party says we need to rely on our own abilities to bring about change and not a White Knight or the bosses to make things better.

greg mccarter Inflation is caused by bosses raising prices. They raise prices to capture more value from our labor with the banks lending more money they get from the federal reserve which creates money out of thin air by a trade of bonds and cash both printed by the Bureau of Printing and Engraving and electronic money. The Federal Reserve is a privately owned bank that pays its owners dividends. You can buy a share at a minimum price of $10,000 set by law. Inflation makes wages worth less and property worth more. Boss propaganda blames workers wages for rising prices. Just like the theory that boss respond by directly cutting jobs when the minimum wage goes up. They can't do that unless they want to cut their nose to spite their face. If they cut jobs work won't get done and they won't make a profit form our labor. If they raise prices they risk losing business to other bosses. If they replace labor with machines that costs them more investment and the reduction in labor time cuts into profits unless they can expand sales with increased production. Its not that easy for them to deal with a wage increase and still maintain the rate of profit. They measure sucess as a profit rate. Profits rates are profit's, what's left over after all the costs have been paid, divided by the capital value of the company.
1
Don't worry "Trump Socialism" is passing with both parties now.

@bluesader8 IBEW journeymen electricians already average $36.83 an hour. Unlike the engineer the electrician often works outdoors in the cold and heat doing mechanical work. While the engineer tends to work at a desk and supervises others on the job. The IBEW apprentice electrician starts at 1/2 pay of the journeyman and usually spends one unpaid night a week in a classroom. He usually gets a raise every 6 months for four years until he becomes a journeyman by passing the state licensing exam.
1
@bluesader8 You'll be much closer to the "recipe for disaster" while the US spends 1.2 trillion on new nuclear weapons. My father in law was a stationary engineer in a conventional plant. From what he told me he spent his time turning nob's to open and close steam valves and watching a for phase sync on startup. Do you need those four years of nuclear engineering to become an operator? Was it worth the debt? Aren't you going to be waiting a long time to be promoted to be a Professional Engineer or are you looking into management?
1
@gamalalejandroabdulsalam904 Does that help?
1
@bluesader8 I have the math talent to be an engineer but I'd never want to spend all day inside an office reading spec's, going over blue prints or calculating this or that every day. I've watched graduate engineers throw chairs across the room because they can't fix what we as technicians couldn't fix either.
1
@allahbole Sure you are and if automation were taken to its logical conclusion you'd also be automated out of a job.
1
@allahbole After watching the video I see that as just Karl Marx confirmed. Marx called it new machinery. He pointed out that skilled higher paid labor is the first to be replaced by lower cost labor and new machinery. That the jobs created making the new machines never replaced the jobs lost. Our solution is a sliding scale of wages and hours to spread work around. In other words no overtime while others have no job at all. That the workers should not sacrifice their wages if production time needed goes down in their branch of industry. There is a reason manufacturing buses and passengers trains is profitable and mass transit requires subsidies. You can continually cut labor time in bus and train manufacturing but you can't do the same with a train or bus route.
1
Robert Slackware Why would a "living wage" bill lower the minimum wage? The capitalist no longer directly cut wages like they did in the earlier days of the 19th and 20th century.. Instead they use the central bank to inflate the money supply that then creates price inflation. Although the bosses claim inflation is created by the unions forcing them to raise prices. They do the actually price raising. The bosses will raise prices regardless as to whether you a union member or not. By having the central bank add money to the banking money supply inflation lowers wages while it makes property more valuable in terms of dollar value. As an added benefit they can point at workers saying we are causing inflation by trying to keep up with inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index. Even the CPI has been revised downward over time to reflect the general direction capitalism takes in creating more poverty. As for lies told by the two parties well my avatar screams "I am not a Democrat." and a section of the Republican Party has yet to decide creating a phone socialist label will help them in elections. The Democratic Socialist are basically Democrats afraid of being called communists. They and the Republican Party seek to "Save Capitalism" and its benefits for themselves. Not get rid of it once and for all time. Like the way capitalism got rid of the previous class systems of slavery and serfdom.
1
@jonusjonus9271 Once none of us have a job then who is going to buy anything or are we all going to be on a stingy welfare check while the boss have swimming pools of cash? The number of highly skilled workers will always be small and their pay will have revolve around what it cost to create another highly skilled worker. Most likely they'll train lots of highly skilled workers on the workers dime with educational loans if they have their way.
1
@jonusjonus9271 After thinking about it I'm not all that sure that worker is all that highly skilled because usually the engineers design something, technicians assemble it or direct the assemblers and operators use it. If it needs repair it goes back to the technicians and if they can't fix it back to the engineer.
1
@jonusjonus9271 The problem with capitalism is it's based in nation states. These nation states produce first for a national market and then the world market if the world market was infinite than capitalism could keep going but the problem is the world market is finite and not every country can win the battle for market share and this leads to artificial ways to keep markets in the poorer countries the place for the more developed capitalist countries as a place that is their market. Thus contradiction can only lead to war over the markets because the capitalists who are based in nation states. You are seeing this breakup in the trade war developing between China and the US. When China dumped its somewhat socialist economy for capitalism the US capitalist rulers couldn't be more pleased. Now years later they are asking themselves why did they enable their own competition.
1
@jonusjonus9271 They always go for the short term profits because that is the way their system works. They can't help themselves because for them profit is king. Sure they cry now but what did they say when the had lots of DEC plants in Massachusetts? They closed down with no concern for all those they threw on the UI line. It was all for the greater good of computer and electronics technology. Whenever I hear how they are crying about losses to China it gives me a sense of deep satisfaction that they are now taking a loss. They basically closed the whole US electronics industry except for defense, engineering and hard wired communications.
1
@jonusjonus9271 Sure they are always talking about how they are going to automate everything but who will buy the products of the automated factories? Should they replace all the Taxi, Bus and Truck drivers with AI what are all of those of us who work as drivers going to do? They are building class hatred with all their automation and ever rising demands for productivity while we are told we are being overpaid. A ship of fools is running the system for their overarching need to be the first Trillionaire in history.
