My grandmother had 11 pregnancies, 9 live births and 7 children who reached adulthood. She loved them all. No one else in the family had that many and I suspect two of my aunts may have died of unsafe abortions since each already had three children.

Capitalism is exploitative and it developed in nation states these nations capitalist exploiters are like thieves in the world market who can not get along as so wage Imperialist war in efforts to take what others claim. The difference is the capitalist privately plan for profits and that is what makes the system unstable and causes all the social crisis. You can't avoid a declining rate of profit as machines replace labor. Obviously if planning works for the capitalist then the workers can do an even better job of planning and cooperation among different nations and people. Capitalism developed in the nation state and can't escape that level of organization because each tiny greedy ruling class has its own national interests despite having to compete in a world market. You can't escape the Imperialist stage of history and arbitrate trade disputes in a world court. Instead you must use war and threats of war. Only the working people by over throwing the capitalist class in every nation and entering into the closest cooperation possible can avoid the prospects of a nuclear war. Because just as much as capitalism is so far the most productive its also has the potential to be the most destructive by blindly following the profit motive and worshiping markets as a price mechanism.

When I need to write a letter I use Open Office. The government and courts should have never ruled software to be intellectual property. Bill Gates was a monopolist who never had an original idea he didn't get elsewhere. MIT campus workstations are non windows OS. Gates bought the original DOS system and convinced IBM to buy licenses for it from him and turned around and sold nearly identical MS-DOS to other large mfgs. Everything about Gates and Microsoft was about market share along with a snowjob about microsoft superiority. Their are lots of computer geeks, engineers and libertarians who hate Bill Gates and Microsoft. Many will argue that had computers developed without proprietary software we would be in a lot better off. The UNIX OS was much superior to DOS. The graphical user interface was a Xerox idea not microsoft or Apple. What's wrong with proprietary software? You don't get access to the source code and the user is told what he can and can not do with software he or she purchased as a way to protect the Microsoft or Apple monopoly in other areas. Let's say you buy Visual C++ from microsoft well you are specifically told you may not use the software to write a word processor. Let's say you buy a lot of computers for your company and you want to do your own mfg of the computers. Well the Windows OS software license does allow that. You can buy windows and mfg. computers just not for yourself. Now lets say you like the Apple OS but want to manufacture your own computers once again you can't legally put the apple OS on anything but an apple mfg. computer even if you buy a copy of the apple OS from Apple. Microsoft and the big companies don't want you fixing anything unless your authorized. A guy went to prison for making copies of freely distributed software by microsoft and Dell. HP won't sell me most parts anymore but will sell them to their authorized repair facility who won't sell them to me either. So free market? Nope monopoly capitalism. It's all about grabbing the market for your buddies and for yourself anyway possible.

Software should have never been allowed to be classified as intellectual property With Windows 10 Microsoft said they would sell Windows as a service like all the open source software with no more charges for updates. No doubt as a way to try and keep up the Windows monopoly. Well now that ended with Windows 11 so its back to the same old deal make everyone buy a new computer for a new version of Windows whether they need it or not. If you use an android phone your using open source software. If you use a Google chromebook your using open source software. Most of the internet runs on open source software because it avoids all the licensing issues and source code secrets associated with the closed source software like microsoft and apple products. . As for Gates giving people what they want well no The idea behind patents and intellectual property was to give limited time monopolies to encourage the development of the arts and sciences not create billionaire monopolists. Gates will tell you he's for business and ya hes for killing small business and making himself and a few of his buddies rich by using all kinda of monopolistic tactics. I'd be for capitalism if it could live up to its promises but it can't instead its about making a few rich at the expense of everyone else and worse than that it leads to Imperialist war. What kind of deal is it for the capitalist to control what you've already bought paid for afterwords? Now they want to control the market to prevent you from doing you own repairs. Gates sold Windows to the big manufactures for $20 a copy for years the same software everyone else was expected to pay $135 or go to jail. He cry's about no protection for intellectual property in China. Well serves him and all the big computer manufactures right. He doesn't give a damn about innovation and never did its was always about lining his pocket by cheating everyone else big, medium and small from IBM, Word Perfect, Lotus notes to the small business and the consumer. He used the control of the operating system to take down and drive nearly everyone else out of the market and without government protection of intellectual property and closed source software none of his bullshit would have ever been possible.

The idea of price control is to attach price to labor time. To drive down the price of labor privilege though education. To use some incentives to raise the general educational and cultural level of the working class. Bill Gates was enabled by outdated and unnecessary long term laws concerning patents and intellectual property. Government didn't punish but instead enabled him by punishing others and allowing secret monopolistic software price structures. The price structures were deliberately set to enable huge mtg as favorites and intellectual property laws used to enforce this structure. Without protection for closed source software we would have a much more useful and democratically manageable software today. .

Instead of continueing the movement the women's rights leaders left the streets for the promises of the Democratic Party liberals. Let's make all birth control free and available along with scientific sex education in the public schools for children not yet at puberty. That would decrease the need but not eliminate the need for abortions. You can't give a fetus a right to life anymore than you can give a person with a kidney disease the right to a kidney from someone else's body. The feus belongs solely to the mother before birth. You only become part of the community after birth.

There was a mass movement of young people demanding an end to the war, equal rights for women and Black people demanding redress of the lasting effects of segregation.

Would you say slavery was wrong in ancient society? Afterall would have gotten to the wage labor system without slavery first? Tell me how that would have been possible? Maybe we can eliminate the need for wars and soldiers someday and maybe a medical technology will come along and we can eliminate 99.9999999999% of all abortions but we haven't yet achieved that possibility. Now you have to deal with the facts and possibilities as they present themselves today no matter how much you like or don't like the results. Write a law against abortions and you will get injured women coming into the Emergency room with self induced or botched illegal abortions. That's what happens in countries were its illegal now and it will start happening here again like it or not. You still have very severe laws against marijuana did it stop marijuana smoking? Or did it just add a lot more costs, more misery and provide a gateway to more dangerous illegal drugs? Why not go back to alcohol prohibition while we are at it? People enjoy sexual relations and just because they do doesn't mean every pregnancy created needs to come to term. In fact avoiding unwanted pregnancy should be a social goal not bringing every pregnancy to term. The use of modern methods of birth control reduces the need for abortions and we have never given any rights to a fetus. A human life has always been recognized with a birth certificate in the modern world. In fact the only reason abortion became illegal was because it became a safe alternative to pregnancy.
