Mussolini left the Social Democratic Party to lead a movemnet of counter revolutionary thugs.

@leejouglard8602 Left wing Right wing doesn't apply to American politics since we never had a monarchist party like France which where that comes from. Before the civil war the Democrats ended up supporting Southern slavery while the Republicans formed a new Party dominated by Northern Industrialist that opposed any expansion of slavery. Unlike Europe American capitalism has never had a crisis big enough to produce a mass socialist or communist party. FDR tasked the FBI as a political police force to counter a rising Militant Labor movement in the 1930's.

This ignores what the Communist Manifesto teaches: "The theoretical conclusions of the Communists are in no way based on ideas or principles that have been invented, or discovered, by this or that would-be universal reformer. They merely express, in general terms, actual relations springing from an existing class struggle, from a historical movement going on under our very eyes. The abolition of existing property relations is not at all a distinctive feature of communism." Fascism is also a movement a counter revolutionary one which organizes the petti bourgeois and declassed lumpen proletarian criminal elements into a movement of thugs at the service of the landowners and big business.

@summernaleDunningKruger When capitalism enters crisis elements of the ruling class jettison free speech in an effort to save capitalist political rule.

@matthewdoran3448 The UK like Canada does not have a Constitution such that a gun law or anti free speech law can be repelled or enacted by Parliament. Attacks on protections from arbitrary government power don't involve only one freedom or proceed in a straight line. .UK Gun law like Canada's is not a total ban.
1
@matthewdoran3448 It doesn't have a Constitution that set up government and places restrictions on it. Instead it has a patchwork of laws passed by parliament and traditions limiting the Kings and perrages power. The UK is know for gradualism tansfomomg form monarchy to Democracy after having restored the monarchy.
1
@matthewdoran3448 Our history is different which is why we have a constitution and you don't. You are still a monarchy with a parliament where in modern times the King usually keeps his mouth shut and your rights are subject to the whims of the current parliament and the next election.. We are a Constitutional Republic our rights apply to almost all people before our laws because our rights are written in the blood of martyrs in a revolution, a bloody civil war and the struggles of women, Blacks and labor. You had a revolution and counterrevolution after London Merchants in parliament ordered the execution of King Charles I and the declaration of the English Republic. Restoration brought back allmost the evils of monarchism. Our founders did NOT set up a new Kingdom despite those who wanted to declare George Washington the New King because he won the battle of Yorktown. . .

@jcplays1749 Truth is always a defense to free speech. Since FDR America has had a political police force called the FBI that has served two party rule.
1
@Plague-Overlord Reagan signed the Mumfort Act a CA gun control Act directed against the Black Panthers. The FBI is America's dirty tricks and political burglary agencie.

@djcoote76 The two parties in their fake fight against Stalinism in the 1950's though people in prison and had them fired from their jobs for being Communists. The target of the which hunt like the current one being waged against Trump is the working class and the trade unions.
1
@ibmerlin2 Neither of the two capitalist parties defends free speech or women's rights.

@daytimecoffee4139 The Nation State with fixed borders is a product of the capitalist era. Today capitalism is the method of production used in almost all of the world. This results in tiny ruling classes that fight with each other for profits in the world market dominated by the American Military Empire. A capitalist military Empire that has become unsustainable. .

@colin1818 If you listen to the video maybe you'd learn something. Democrats called them selves Democratic but refused to accept the election of 1860 in the South.
1
@colin1818 Hitler's party used socialist demagogy while being financed by big business. Hitler's Party served as a battering ram of non Jewish middle class thugs against the Socialist and Communist trade unions. His Party was based in mafia type small business, disillusioned war veterans and declassed criminal elements.
1
@maeschder Left wing right wing refers to how parties sat in the French Assemble. It doesn't really apply in the US since with the exception of Sanders only two parties of the same capitalist class exist in Congress. Hitler's Party sat on the extreme Right with the Capitalist Conservatives in the Reichstag. They voted to make Hitler dictator with the enabling act. .

@laughs150 Democrats like the Republicans are a capitalist party what is most important for them is the freedom to make a profit. The capitalist is the involuntary promoter of modern industry because of that. He also loves the power of money. The power to buy and sell. The ability to make a profit lies in the ability to capture markets and constantly revolutionize the means of production. In other words to cut the labor time needed to produce a commodity. By capturing markets the capitalist gains the ability to set prices higher than the cost of production and by revolutionizing the means of production he gains the ability to cut the labor time needed to produce. The capitalist government plays the role of arbiter of disputes and common interests of the capitalist as a whole.

@LibertarianGaIt "Who's John Galt" is a fantasy novel by a chain smoking hypocrite who was idolized by the Central banker Alan Greenspan. The crisis of 2008 showed that once again Capitalism was an unstable crisis ridden system of wars and depression. Too big to fail is the moto of the modern capitalist central bank and government.

@bumblesbelle The fascist build upon the pauperized middle class and long term unemployed not the working class trade unions. The organize terror attacks upon workers and peasant famers. The trade unions are organizations of workers who use collective strike actions against the employers to struggle against capitalist crisis. The fascist build their movement by mounting physical attacks upon the workers unions and their leaders. The employers begin to look towards the fascist to save their profits from union workers.
1
@kurarisusa As Trotsky said the Fascist exact a high price for their counter revolutionary service to big business and private property. If capitalism wasn't in a crisis to begin with it would not face a workers revolution.
1
@cassildaandcarcosa294 Capitalism is privately owned means of production. Worker Control begins with the trade unions in Capitalist society. Then the struggle between the trade unions and the capitalist enters the field of politics. Here the workers have once again take up the labor party to defend themselves politically. Then the question of state power is posed which class will have a state and control its power.
1
@cassildaandcarcosa294 The workers have to a leadership capable of defeating the old state in insurrection or revolution and that builds a workers state. That's how both the Cuban and Russian revolution proceeded. The rise of Stalinism was just a temporary problem when you consider how long it took in human history to get this far. Without the Soviet Union the Cuban revolution would have been defeated. Cuba has a state and a communist leadership like that of Lenin and Trotsky that looks to the working people both internally and externally in the struggle against capitalism.and the capitalist classes. For to be a capitalist is to occupy a special social place in the system of production. You get to communism by taking things out of the market beginning with heavy industry and workers control of the industry. But if the leadership forgets that it fighting a bigger struggle than that of the problems of one country it ends up being self defeating like the Stalinist leaderships that squandered and lost so many revolutions 1928 China, 1933 Germany, 1939 Spain and France. Stalin and his gangsters had defeat the opposition internally while at the same time defend the the gains of the revolution from the inevitable clash with Imperialism in the second world war. If any of those revolutions in Europe or China at that time had one it could have reinvigorated the Soviet masses and swept capitalism from the globe back then. The Stalinists didn't do that well since instead of looking towards the working class internationally the looked to the Democratic Imperialist regimes. So you had an American Communist Party becoming the best strike breakers for FDR durring the war. Communism is a historical movemnet of the working class in its struggle with the other most important class in the world the capitalist class. Its NOT about making the correct definition so a bourgeois professor can teach a class..
1
@cassildaandcarcosa294 People like yourself know everything yet know nothing. You've gone to some university somewhere and listened to the echo chamber of leafiest intellectuals who have no more connection to the working class than the Stalinist they criticise. They think one needs to just erase the blackboard of history and start over with "new theories" that have already shown themselves to be false.
1
@cassildaandcarcosa294 The biggest difference is that Soviet nationalization was carried out by the working class in power where as Hitler lead a movemnet intent on smashing the trade unions, comments and socialist parties. His nationalization was meant to save the empling class. To crush the workers revolution before it could get started.
1
@cassildaandcarcosa294 Most of those who insisted on the Soviet Union being state capitalist ended up supporting Democratic Imperialism in the second world war. See "In Defense of Marxism" by Trotsky and The Struggle for a Proletarian Party" by James Cannon. The commune only lasted 70 days. See also "The Draft Program of the Communist International: A Criticism of Fundamentals" by Trotsky in 1928.
