Blake Its not possible to open a mind fixated on gold and silver. It is this fixation that the capitalist use as an ideology to keep the masses of working people chained and sleeping. If you can be convinced that "It's Miller Time and You Only Go Around Once in Life." than you are much less likely to protest the chains capitalism requires that we wear everyday at the capitalist's workplace.

@llkk9900 Plenty of retirees are trying to get by on a social security check. You want to call me a leach when people like Bezo's and Gates are swimming in dollars go right ahead and make a damn fool out of yourself. Your dumb ass regulations at DMV took my job without any concern as to how I can get another with only one good eye now. Sure why don't I just study engineering as if they are hiring freshly minted 66 year old engineers.

@rachs86782 I use that symbol to emphasis the early Soviet Union and the "Back to Lenin" fight by the left opposition. This battle of titanic proportions began with Lenin who wanted Stalin removed from his post as General Secretary. Lenin died and then Trotsky took up the banner of world revolution fighting the developing and counterrevolutionary officialdom. Down with the NEPman, the Kulak and the bureaucrat. To go forward one must go "Back to Lenin." It was Stalin and the cowardly bureaucracy that murdered the revolution in the Moscow Trials of 1936 to 1938. Lenin's closest comrades were tortured and forced to confess to crimes they had not committed. All were accused of Trotskyism. Trotsky had been exiled in Mexico and was murdered by a Spanish NKVD agent Ramon Mercader on Stalin's orders.

@vicentemagdaleno3154 Those who feel sorry for themselves are utterly useless. It is those who can learn, think, see and plan ahead of time for what is needed next for the class struggle that will become the next and most valuable revolutionary leaders.

@tj3771 Now that you have given up 'the victim mindset' what kind of mind set do you have now? The 'born again' liberal Christian mindset of Jimmy Carter or the 'we can do no wrong' conservative mindset of Ronald Reagan? Please tell us what great discover you have found in your change of environment and great application of research?

Sure the capitalists don't want a minimum wage if they could get people to work for less and go back to the days of child labor they would be ecstatic.

@db4290 Schiff is just another university educated elitist.

@rachs86782 If Bolshevik had not taken power when they did then fascism would have a Russian name and not an Italian one. That had the majority in the Petrograd Soviet and when the all Russian Soviet meet they and the left Social Revolutionary delegates also had the majority. Lenin's policy of" Land to the Tiller" for the countryside was much like the Cuban revolutions. The break up of the big landed estates in the countryside and no interference with the small family farmers who were to be helped to produce in anyway possible. Collectivization was to be strictly voluntary. Instead the Stalinist majority decided to advocate for "Kulak (large land owners) Enrich Thyself" as a collar to the temporary NEP in the cities. This had the exactly opposite result than the one wanted. Meaning now the revolution was headed back towards enabling big capitalist farming, exploitation of the landless peasants and reduced production of food in the countryside. This then resulted in the majority in the politburo going to forced collectivization as a solution.

@E3KGaming Its just what has become usual in American bourgeois politics now. Smear the opposition as sexual perverts or some other criminal or semi criminal grouping.
2
@a.gabbey5569 Its an ideological defense of capitalism. It's elitist by definition common sense would tell you that.

@MarcBonesss And just what has the populist right have to offer? Promises to drain a swamp? Blaming anyone who they think will gather them votes. Despite the hope of the right and the fear of the left the workers in the US are less racist and less anti immigrant than any time in history. In fact since 2008 the workers of all colors are more interested politics and socialism than anyone has seen since the end of WW2. We have even sold papers to those waiting outside to go into Trump rallies.
2
@MarcBonesss The first world war took the Soviet Union out of Capitalist hands. The second World War ended with the ruin of all the European empires and more countries taken out of the capitalist world. A third world war will not leave the US untouched. Other powers have the ability to deliver nuclear weapons on US soil. All of the capitalist classes are nationalistic so you aren't really revealing anything. For a fascist government to rise it must first be able to defeat the workers organized in unions.

Walmart would strong arm suppliers for lower prices. Why because the actual surplus value is created by the manufactures workers. The retail distributors share the surplus value created by the manufacture of commodities. Most Walmart workers go on the books as overhead rather than production although the predictability of retail sales is much more quantifiable today than when retail was done by small dry goods stores. If workers fight for higher wages and win it will also force the layoff of lots of dead weight like extra lawyers, unnecessary managers, industrial psychologists, store police, merchandising experts and so on.
1
Walmart's prices are no lower than many other retailers. They however want to convince customers that those prices are lower and that they would rise if wages went up. On a macro economic scale the one area in which prices that would go up is in the luxury goods area. Production of necessities would rise to fulfill the needs of the minimum wage workers. Bosses and capitalist owners would see a decline in overall profits which would be a good sign for workers since they would be competing to invest in the production of necessity market instead of speculation on debt, futures markets, bonds and stocks.
1
+D D Part of their success is based on their reputation. Retail is all about convincing the customer you've got quality and low prices. Walmart is everywhere now and its role in the market place lets it strong arm its suppliers, dictate all kinds of terms and use area pricing to drive out its competitors. I often shop there out of convenience because other department stores are a considerate distance away or have closed there doors. I would not buy a computer there but would buy a TV, a gallon of milk and motor oil.

Capitalism is all about lying and cheating. Crony capitalism is just plain old regular capitalism.
1
Its in the workers interest to fight for higher wages not to save one business over another form competition or monopolistic practices. Those are the natural workings of capitalism.

123chargeit Cuba is an example of socialism and no one is starving there. The Cuban people share what they have among themselves and with the rest of the world. They educate more doctors for the rest of the underdeveloped world while the USA imports doctors from underdeveloped world because the AMA limits the number of doctors that can be trained in the USA. When Ebola broke out in Africa they had no problem finding volunteers to serve the needs of people in Africa while Obama sent only a few military doctors and confined them to treating health care personnel.
1
123chargeit Venezuela has a Socialist movement. Outside of oil private enterprise remains. Why does the US need to continue over 50 years of a cruel blockade against Cuba?.Why military aid to Saudi Arabia and its Sharia a law monarchy. Try bringing a dozen bibles into Saudi Arabia and see how fast the religious police throw you into jail.
1
Saudi Arabia is a US ally with a real dictatorship. They are allowed to trade and buy plenty of weapons from the US keeping the dictatorship in power. Cuba isn't a dictatorship and that's why US propaganda, blockade and terrorism is a failure among the Cuban People. The Cuban people have retained their dignity. They have no intention of 'opening up' the way China has. Foreign investment will be strictly controlled by their government. The US Imperialists and the Miami Mafia have predicted time and time again that the Cuban People would surrender to Washington. Instead they have been forced to recognize the revolutionary government despite the plea's from the Miami Mafia and return the 5 hero's. When Fidel died a few contra's got drunk and spewed their hatred of the revolution in Miami while in Cuba the masses of people celebrated his life and a reverse of the Caravan of Liberty that took the revolutionary government from Santiago de Cuba to Havana.

@moonbentley7412 I can't help but laugh at you fools who think they are 'getting ahead' because you've been able to grab a littler wealth. LOL LOL LOL easily fooled and bought off with trinkets. At least the Indian's who sold Manhattan had no idea how capitalism works but you guys claim to know everything.
1
These guys don't work 20 hour days that what they would like out of their workers though. How long before a capitalist would lose his ability to make a simple decision would it take if he worked 20 hour days. He'd be saying yes when he meant no up when he meant down. They don't open and close the stock market for twenty hours out of 24. They keep the standard bankers hour of 9:30AM-4PM.
1
You have to at least be able to get an Ivy league education or have a ton of money to get into the financial sector. Irs all about financial manipulation and trying to get away with insider information obtained legally.
1
Maybe I should have said elite college education and she must have had a very high grade point average otherwise you would not be using the term "very bright." Unless they are speed freaks they aren't putting in 20 hour days. Part of it depends on the business and what the small business owners role is in it. If you can't manage your time well then that business is going down the tubes. The first employee is usually your spouse and then close relatives because their loyalty is less questionable. If your micromanaging everything, worrying about every detail and using up every valuable minute of your time than my verdict is your going to be one of those who creates the high rate of failures for new business.

Ok let's go with this does she have the usual credentials required? What are the actual skills required to work on Wall Street? What do they actually do besides hollar buy and sell on on two phones all day? I suppose they have to read things like the Wall Street Journal and have some idea which stocks are rising and which are falling and who is in the market to buy this or that especially government contracts or big ticket items like jet aircraft. My bet is that the big firms have all kinds of specialists in every kind of bond or paper contract salable.
1
Capitalism is not the solution and their can be no common ground with the capitalists. When the do something in our interests than obviously it is done for ulterior motives. He predicted the housing bubble for years sure he did and so did Karl Marx. Everyone knows that capitalism produces bubbles of fictitious capital that then must deflate. What no one knows is when or where a deflation will start and how serious will it become.

I am waiting for the Libertarians to go into the jungles and follow the orangutans swinging from tree to tree eating low hanging fruit. That way you can all avoid the original sin of collectivism based in the division of labor.
