legalblond Actually that's all wrong. Workers fighting together is the way to socialism. Class struggle becomes easier and more effective when we all fight together across all lines that the capitalist would use to divide us.

No because as show in the recent GM strike workers were fighting for equal wages and an end to the two tier contract and making temps into regular workers.

@nal8503 No Government Regulations by the capitalist government are made to benefit capitalism as a whole so as to prevent greed from getting out of control. Name what particular regulation you are talking about because without a union at GM every worker there would be a temp.

@nal8503 Okay so your argument is similar to the libertarian where governments are disconnected from the economic system. A large portion if not a majority of American politicians are part of the meritocracy educated at the elite universities and stepped in the theory and methods of finance capitalism. They belong to one of the two ruling parties who receive the biggest campaign contributions from business. Yet somehow they are getting overpaid and not properly performing their duties to an ideal capitalism or as Any Rand put it "Capitalism the Unknown Idea."

@nal8503 So yes capitalist would like to pay only a wage that would sustain a worker till the next day. The price now set for that commodity results in the maximum profit. Health needs for a human being begin at birth and don't end until to death. The attitude of the capitalist of old can be easily understood in a conversation between a coal miner and his boss. Coal Miner, "Which costs the company more a dead mule or a dead miner?" Coal Boss, "A dead mule of course. We can always hire another miner. We would have to buy a mule." Today the coal bosses greed is restrained in many ways because of thing like the "Battle of Blair Mountain." and strikes by miners.

@nal8503 No one is happy with the schools in the US. At best many could care less. Last year saw a teachers strike wave across about five states. Jobs in the company/state meritocracy are doled out based on based on education and college graduated from which is probably the only reason it's considered important. How much money a school district gets to spend is based upon property taxes. Those with higher incomes live in the same neighborhoods with zoning laws to keep out the riff raff. One reason school shootings happen in better off neighborhoods is their children don't have to pass through metal detectors before entering their school. Schools in the US still operate as if children are needed on farms that don't exist anymore. So a full school year is 180 school days with June, July and August now being the children's vacation time.

@ScorpionXII Worker, "Boss they have Socialism in Sweden." Boss, 'No they have capitalism." Worker, "Boss they have universal Healthcare." Boss, "That's Socialism!"

@200131356 For the capitalist and their politicians it's a question of how much it will cost in profits and what will the workers accept as universal. They don't like the idea of questioning the health insurance scam by a call for universal access which can only be achieved by taxing wealth and cutting the cost of a medical education without exceeding the boundaries of capitalism itself.

Workers will adopt the best ideas that help win the class struggle. In this coming struggle they will realize that capitalism can not be fixed but must be replaced by working class rule on the road to world socialism..

Capitalism isn't working and that's why interest in socialism is on the rise. The SJW's and PETA are your companions seeking to make capitalism "work" raising up progressive rights of animals. The closest the "Frankfurt School" gets to the working class is when they buy union made Oscar Mayer "hot dogs." for another conference on identity politics.

@Dennis-nc3vw The worker need to break with the twin parties of capitalism and build their own party independent of the capitalists. A party that can take state power from the capitalists and embarque on the building of world socialism.

@richardsmart5532 That's because capitalism can't afford to lose in the countries it developed first. Capitalist reforms are never meant to be permanent but only for a time until they decided they need them back. When the US decides it doesn't like a country's government it calls for regime change with sanctions, trade embargoes, CIA plans for coups and war. No thought is given to the people who live in those countries as everything is included in their pre wars includes both food and medicine. If things were bad in Venezuela then the US with its regime change doctrine means making things worse.
